A mate is in the process of opening The Hold in Manly. I went to the Family and Friends launch last night.
He has managed to score the only tap in NSW of Burliegh Brewing's 28 Pale Ale.

Making a flying visit to Hamilton NZ on the 19th-23rd & intend making time to check out this joint & reporting back:

Also I need something I can bring back for "6-pack Saturday" which is becoming a thing at work. First thought was Mac's Gold or Real Ale but I've heard it's not what it was before Terry Mac (who was a 'nua boy BTW) retired & sold it to one of the big boys. Can anyone confirm or refute?

Newish brewery on the Northern Beaches - Modus Operandi Brewery in Mona Vale. http://www.mobrewing.com.au/

Mate saw an an article in the local community newspaper and attended said brewery for a nose bag and re-hydration stop.

If you like their brews, they will fill a CANimal (1 Litre aluminium can- squealer size) on the spot in the brew of your choice.

The Former Tennant IPA won the 2014 Craft Beer of the Year, and Champion Amber Ale, and it is an absolute cracker of a brew if you can get your hands on some.

Wheat beers, white beers and steam beers are particularly refreshing in summer but they MUST be very cold, colder than most average fridges. Any beers with subtle fruit flavours are also good in summer, but not Belgian lambic beers, they're very chewy.

I enjoyed an Eagle Bay Vienna lager yesterday at their brewery on Cape Naturaliste, near Margaret River. Very enjoyable with its slight bitterness, it went well with the creative pizzas from the wood fired oven. Cold and with a distinct malt taste, the Vienna was an ideal "just-one-beer-for-the-driver" over lunch.

^^^ Had 8/10. Agree with 6 of the 8 I've had being on the list.

There are plenty of other local brews that are readily available and would warrant consideration for the summer, such as:
Little Creatures IPA
Rocks Brewing Conviction IPA
Murray's Brewing Rude Boy Pilsner
Bridge Road Dark Harvest
Nomad Brewing Long Trip Saison
Burleigh Brewing FIGJAM IPA
Riverside Brewing 69 Pale Ale
The Little Brewing Co Death Beneath the Tanks
