give them time. The startup of NRC was a real crash implementation with little manoeuvre space for the licence holders.
Hopefully things may be more streamlined and logical for NRC 2.0

The ARU, State unions & the NRC clubs need a good hard review of the AFL. The teams individually can operate as they see fit WITHIN THE GUIDELINES SET BY THE ARU.
The ARU need to grow a pair of spuds and take control of the game instead of handing it off to everyone and anyone else, that is what has caused 90% of the mess that is rugby in Australia.
If Pulver wants to leave any sort of a legacy, make some hard decisions now and set the game up for the future!

No doubt they will get better, but ultimately the ARU and the state bodies(specifically NSWRU) needed to take a greater stake to avoid these clashes from the start. The jersey clash should never have been a issue for the clubs, the colours of the jerseys should have been dictated by the ARU in liaison with the clubs. Im harping on about the jerseys, but that really is just the tip of the iceberg.. Guidelines for social media and the online presence was also missing.
But yes, NRC 2.0 should be structured significantly better...

One would hope so MHCS, however don't hold your breath. The NRC, as a pathway has shown in the early Super 15 rounds that it can help build the Force and Rebels into serious contenders, and is a berthing ground for talent, so they need to make this comp a success. I don't know how high on the priority list the jerseys will be, although, tackling it now makes sense.
The easiest way of fixing this problem, get all team to have an away strip!!!! Everyone can keep their home colours and have an away strip for the road!

Does anyone know when to expect some news on the 2015 season such as draws, playing rosters, etc. I would think that these things would want to be well and truly rolling forward.

THE National Rugby Championship is set to be played for at least six more years, with the competition’s future all-but secured in the ARU’s new broadcasting deal.
The inaugural season of the NRC yielded mixed results last year, with the third-tier competition producing good rugby and eleven Super Rugby debutants but only modest TV audiences for major financial backer Foxtel and Fox Sports.
Speculation subsequently emerged the pay-TV company would not renew its $2m-a-year funding deal at the end of this year, thus threatening the competition’s existence.
The Daily Telegraph understands, however, that Fox Sports are set to take up the option of a five-year extension as part of the new ARU broadcasting rights deal, meaning the NRC can continue until at least 2020.
SANZAR partners and broadcasters are yet to finalise long-form contracts in a new five-year agreement but the ARU is expected to next month announce a deal worth $40-45 million a year.
It is not known if the ARU will still get $2m-a-year for the NRC, however, and it understood Fox Sports have committed to broadcast an Australian third-tier competition — not necessarily the NRC in its current format.

The article discusses further about a possible reduction in teams and more fluid movement of players between the teams. I tend to agree that a rationalisation of the teams is needed, I think the current setup of Sydney team isn't sustainable given the player depth and financial liability been placed on the Shute shield teams. 8 teams would be ideal.
However, NRC 2015 will go ahead in the same format as 2014 with the same number of teams and the match of the round broadcast, there might be a few small changes apparently.

I said it a long time ago and il say it again, I think people need to be prepared to have all NRC matches broadcast on week nights if that's the trade off to get the matches broadcast. that is an NRC match on Mon, Tue, Wed and Thu nights... This is especially pertinent when the season overlaps with the NRL, the NRC can provide live sporting content midweek that has minimal clashes with the other codes.

I've said it before but Foxtel would not have been impressed with the way Super Rugby players were shared amongst the Sydney team in particular. The ability for Rising and Spirit to select 16 players AFTER SUPER RUGBY INJURIES affectively siphoned their injury toll to the Sydney teams. 16 is pretty much all the professional players in Aus minus the Wallabies squad and divided by 9 but doesn't take into account the fact that more than 25% of Super Rugby players will be injured by the end of the season. QRU also made the decision to stack their city team with many more contracted players to give them a boost which obviously worked. The whole system needs a makeover.
