Ardie Savea out for a month:

"He split his finger, the joint came out, so he's had to have that re-done" according to coach Boyd.

Sounds yucky.

Chiefs 23 (James Lowe, Tom Marshall tries; Aaron Cruden 2 conversions, 3 penalty goals) Blues 16 (Jerome Kaino try; Dan Bowden conversion, 2 penalty goals; Ihaia West penalty goal).

Extremely ugly game & almost (almost) feel sorry for Blues as they were possibly less shite than in previous weeks.

As silly as it sounds the Blues haven't been that shit, they've been right in all their games, just can't win any.

I don't know, I just get the feeling the Blues pull their usual jail break basketball shit and when the opposition doesn't curl up and die they lose all heart.

They look mentally weak to me.

^^^^^^^^ jailbreak basketball shit can only work if (a) the grunters are doing their shit (which currently they're not) & (b) your 9 & 10 have got it going on (which currently they don't). In the absence of (a) & (b), y'all might as well be the Reds :) that said, when that particular cripple fight occurs my money's on the Reds.

I looked at the team sheet for the Blues and Jesus wept. The Force would kill for a team like that.

Crusaders by <10 but we'll need to be up by 15+ going into the last 20 as teams returning from SA seldom finish well....................

Well that was rather a shit performance all round weren't it? Goodbye NZ Conf (not even the Horrorcanes of old could lose 5/9 after being 7/7) therefore goodbye Super Rugby. Title #8.

On a brighter note I've done the inter-Conf stats:

SA teams 7/8 v Australian (88%)
NZ 6/8 v Aus (75%)
NZ 9/13 v SA (69%)

NZ 15/21 v SA & Aus (71%)
SA 11/21 v NZ & Aus (52%)
Aus 3/16 v NZ & SA (19%)

Not pretty reading if you're an Aussie.............

I hate the cliche but I suspect that was the loss the Canes had to have. As a Reds fan I fear how they will bounce back.

I bloody hope so Ruggo, as a Canes man. Though I suspect this week will be used to rest a few ABs, so maybe no Conrad, J Savea and Jane?
