Daz, what's doing here? That jacket doesn't have any leather elbow patches. You come from the loig or something? So uncouth.

Team is up for tomorrow's match. Few changes.

Surprised the Barbarian boys are not back. Looks like Mike Tyler paid a hefty price for his yellow card, or perhaps because he was well beaten.

Australia U20s prop Fereti Sa’aga will make his first Buildcorp National Rugby Championship (NRC) start, as the Melbourne Rising head to Manly Oval to face the North Harbour Rays on Thursday night.
Melbourne-born and raised Sa’aga represented the Australian Schoolboys in 2013, Samoa U20s in 2014 and Australia U20s at this year’s World Rugby U20s Championship in Italy.
The powerful and talented loosehead, who made two appearances off the bench in the 2014 NRC and has come off the bench in both of the Rising’s 2015 matches, replaces Mike Tyler (knee) in the only change to the starting lineup from last Saturday’s Round Two clash with Brisbane City.
With Tim Metcher ruled out for the remainder of the 2015 NRC with a hamstring injury, young Brothers (QLD) prop Tom Moloney has relocated to Melbourne and is a chance to become the seventeenth Melbourne Rising debutant of the campaign.
Following defeat against the reigning premiers on Saturday, Melbourne Rising Head Coach Zane Hilton said he was pleased his side would have the opportunity to return to action so quickly against the Rays on Thursday night.
“We’ve reviewed Saturday’s match, finding some work ons and focusing upon some missed opportunities, but most importantly we’ve moved past that quickly and trained well in preparation for facing the Rays,” Hilton said.
“They’re coming off a fantastic win last weekend in Perth, and we know that they represent a stern test, but we’re focusing upon what we can control and what we are capable of.”
Wingers Stacey Ili and Justin Marsters, stars of Victoria’s Direct Connect Dewar Shield, impressed on their NRC debuts last week and Hilton said he was looking forward to unleashing them against the Rays.
“It was really pleasing to see ‘Juddy’ and ‘Stace’ running out in the Rising kit for the first time, and they equipped themselves really well; they’re certainly able to have an impact at this level, and not only myself but also their teammates are very excited to see them go again on Thursday night.”
The Round Three clash between the Melbourne Rising and North Harbour Rays will be broadcast live on FOX Sports this Thursday, at 7:30pm.

Barbarians still had a game against Worcester this weekend and others to follow. Also to fly back from UK on Sun/Mon and be available for a Thursday game is a bit rough.
still no sign of Timani or Ah Nau, presumably both are injured

apparently both Timani and Ah Nau back in the starting team for Saturday, according to Rebels newsletter, but the link to the full team goes nowhere

Looking forward to it. Obviously Metcher is out for the tournament, but otherwise we look to be getting pretty damn close to the best 23.

apparently both Timani and Ah Nau back in the starting team for Saturday, according to Rebels newsletter, but the link to the full team goes nowhere

Footscray and Melbourne Rebels forwards Cruze Ah-Nau and Lopeti Timani will make their first appearances of the 2015 Buildcorp National Rugby Championship (NRC), after both were named to start against the Greater Sydney Rams in Morwell this Saturday.
Ah-Nau and Timani each played every game of the Melbourne Rising’s 2014 season, where they won the inaugural Minor Premiership before being eliminated at the Semi Final stage, and they return after completing rehabilitation from minor injuries suffered in the lead-up to the NRC.
Their inclusions are among four changes to the starting lineup which defeated the North Harbour Rays back in Round Three, with Box Hill flyer Filipe Vilitati earning a first start on the right wing and Wallaby Dom Shipperley returning from representative duty with the Barbarians in the UK to start at outside centre.
In a further boost, fellow 2015 Barbarians representatives Tom English and Luke Jones return via the reserves bench, while Colby Fainga’a will lead the side out as Captain for the first time as Co-Captain Scott Fuglistaller moves out of the starting lineup as part of a backrow rotation.
Melbourne Rising Head Coach Zane Hilton said that there were plenty of difficult decisions to make at selection time.
“It’s exciting to welcome back Cruze, Dom, Lopeti, Luke and Tom, as well as to give Filipe his first start at NRC level; he’s certainly earned it,” Hilton said.
“Ultimately, we’ve had to leave out some players who have performed strongly for us, which bodes well for where our program is at.
“We’re really confident in the entire squad we have at our disposal, and that confidence has been justified by the way our players have performed when given the opportunity. We’ve used 28 players already in this competition after just three matches, yet our standards and expectations haven’t dropped.”
The Melbourne Rising will play a first ever match in Morwell, approximately 150 kilometres from the Melbourne CBD, and Hilton is excited to take his side to regional Victoria.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for us to go and test out a wonderful regional facility,” he said. “Colby and Jonah went and visited the stadium last week, and they’ve only had good things to say.
“There’s a great playing surface, and they’ve hosted an A-League fixture out there before so we know that it is a first class setup. We’re looking forward to seeing as many Gippsland locals, as well as our dedicated Melbourne Rising fans, in Morwell on Saturday.”

Should be a lovely sunny day in the valley tomorrow. Unfortunately there's been no publicity so I don't know where the crowd will come from, in the rugby black hole that is Gippsland, but I'll be there with my boys!

Our scrum seems to be a shadow of last year's. Missing PAE in particular. Hopefully isn't an omen for the Rebels.

Toby, Metcher, and Weeks all haven't scrummed during the NRC, while Lopeti and Jones haven't started as Locks together or separately. Hagan and Retallick also on the way too.

I'm not worried yet.

Tex don't forget Toby Smith played approx 67% of Rising games last year whereas he is not playing this year. Plus it was Cruze Ah-Nau's first game of 2015 NRC on Saturday.

Last season virtually had three quarters of our prop rotation with a significant amount of Super Rugby experience. This season other than Cruze in last game and Tim Metcher for 5 or 10 minutes in first game it has been entirely a Dewar Shield / club prop rotation.

Apart from Weeks and Smith, who are the Rising props for 2016?
Are they all out injured?

Weeks isn't on the Rising roster this year. He played stars last year. Guessing he had post season surgery. Have seen him at a Rising game, but not in kit.
