Changes to Nine Network broadcasting

Nine will broadcast their main channel in SD and in HD from Nov. 26

LCN 9 - Nine (SD version)
LCN 90 - NineHD (HD version will be MPEG-4, I believe)
LCN 91 - Nine (duplicate LCN of LCN 9)
LCN 92 - GEM (moved to SD MPEG-2)
LCN 93 - GO! (will also use LCN 99 for a while until people get used to the new number)
LCN 94 - NineLife (bandwidth reallocated from old EXTRA channel)
LCN 95 - EXTRA
LCN 99 - GO! (temporary duplicate LCN of LCN 93).

Not all equipment will decode MPEG-4 - a rescan after Nov. 26 will probably be necessary.

Foxtel/Austar:-

Cable Customers

Customers who subscribe to Foxtel via our cable service will be able to access the following channels (channel numbers to be confirmed):

• Channel 9 HD (if you have a HD compatible set top unit you will receive Channel 9 HD, otherwise you'll receive Channel 9 SD)
• 9GO! SD
• 9Gem SD
• 9Life SD

Customers with boxes that include FTA Tuners

Customers with boxes that include FTA tuners, like iQ3 and MyStar, will be able to access the following channels:

• Channel 9 HD (if you have a HD compatible set top unit you will receive Channel 9 HD, otherwise you'll receive Channel 9 SD)
• 9GO! SD
• 9Gem SD
• 9Life SD

Please note: The changes will be rolled out to customers in stages as quickly as possible from Thursday 26 November.


Satellite Customers

Customers who subscribe to Foxtel via our satellite service will continue to have access to the two Channel 9 channels they currently receive, in the resolution in which they are currently transmitted:

• Channel 9 SD
• GO! SD
