I dunno about you but I saw DHP miss at least 3 one on ones against Naholo. Regardless of where he was playing those tackles need to be made. The basic skill set is pretty much the same for all positions (catch, tackle and pass) and should be adaptable. There is just no excuse for repeatedly failing to execute those skills.

His first miss on Crotty was a poor one too which led to the try. Easily handed off by Crotty.

Not so weird if no one in rugby is doing any skills coaching. I'd be surprised if anyone has spent any time coaching these guys on kicking technique. Not just Folau, but Foley and others as well - there seems little or no improvement, which I find really odd considering that they seem to have the raw ability to kick the ball. Either no one is coaching them at it (most likely) or they can't do it (highly unlikely).

Folau's kicking technique is generally pretty alright but he struggles with choosing when/where to kick and sometimes kicking with pressure in his face.

I'm not sure, but I'm not so bothered as we won a few, they won a few. The ABs were not going for steals, they were going for wrecking our ball. The offload count by their forwards, if anyone keeps such a stat, would be horrifying from our point of view.

Yeah that was the biggest difference in the test match for me, how the ABs hit the tackle with real force. Read was back to his psycho best. Kaino in beast mode. Crockett was hard as nails and then the two locks just worked tirelessly which had a huge effect in defence and attack.

Not great output from the Wallaby tight 5 in slowing our ball down or putting in dominant tackles. There was little pressure IMO and Smith and Barrett were able to dictate the game without having to do too much out of the ordinary.

Drop enough to keep em honest and humble, I would say Moore, Hooper, DHP or whoever (as there is good enough cover plus the those former two are senior enough and motivation in the team wont be a problem, i hope)..

I remember reading something bout when the ABs coaches wanted to put players on notice for poor skills or lost a match or watever, they would target their senior and best players (ala McCaw) and made an example of their missed tackles and dropped catches - even though that player may have single handedly won the game - just to keep all the players honest and humble.

In retrospect, there were a number of things that that baffled me in this game

1. Lineout, Hooper receives first throw err what? Is that us being simply too clever or being simply not confident in our specialist jumpers
2. Attitude, we seem to be afraid to make mistakes, so much hanging off, not enough getting in there
3. Defensive alignment, we knew the ABs were going to hit the edges and that they had more pace, but our spacing allowed for more space on the outside; and then we blame the winger
4. Trust, we continually looked like a side who didn't trust their teammates on the inside or outside
5. Arm grab tackles, stop it, just no, just no

So Mick "the kick" Byrne joins the Wallabies and immediately we spend the entire 1st half kicking easy lobs to the most dangerous back 3 in the world.

That's almost as irritating as having a line out caller who looks at our first l/o close to the NZ line and selects our smallest option to go up. That too gave possession to NZ.

Faaark. What a balls up. As usual I let the heart convince me that we were in with a crack. Then we lead 3-0.
I can think of barely a positive.
I gave Genia 3 points then was looking at the flimsiest reasons to give out the 2 and 1.
2 went to Slipper because he was an improvement on Sio.
1 went to AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) because he made the kickoffs interesting even though he looks so slow out on the wing.
