Intensity is good and forwards getting on top but no surprise we are lacking combination in the backs. A lot of pretty good ball is being wasted.

Oranges and it is FRA 11 AUS 13.

Scrappy play, plenty of good intention with poor execution from both sides.

Front row looks like it's the first time they've played together, Latu and Slipper aren't engaging together and loose binds across all 3

God that was a fucking clueless scrum penalty from Jackson.

So the scrum goes down with their prop ending up with their hips pointing to the sky and 45 degrees sideways and Slipper is penalised for collapsing?

The 1 from France was pulling AAA down in that first set of that last scrum so obviously. Think Cheika needs to give them a rev up, if we can lift our intensity in the 2nd half we should win this one. France look clueless under pressure.

The French lack organisation in attack. They look like they met in the carpark.

OZ seem to be trying too hard to make the big plays at every ruck or every backline move. Just need to settle a bit, build pressure and pick their moments. This French side is struggling and reverting to hot potato stuff.

Time to do something about the scrum laws, it's a blight on the game at times like this. Has hardly even been a single feed into the scrum yet, never mind one successfully completed.

IMO they need to start training up video refs to use the overhead cam to spot players not driving straight. You can see from the overhead that the French aren't even remotely straight, they are just boring in to try and collapse it. England will do the same thing.

There was a period last year around the RWC when scrums were holding up and functioned well, but this year they've been terrible, starting with the England series.

Can't agree with the comments here about Jackson getting the scrum decisions wrong. Slipper is very obviously being worked over and he is first to slide in and go to ground. Time for him to be replaced.

So far the Aussie backs have been quite impressive imo. Godwin having a lot of touches, especially at first receiver and his combination with Kuridrani is not looking too bad at all. Both wingers and fullback are going quite well also.

What is with some of the camera angles on BEin? Who wants to watch a scrum from a top view?
Those views convicted "Scrum Straight" Joe Marler in the court of public opinion.

It is cheating and should be shown. Spider cam is good to out the scrum cheats. TMO should be able to call the cheats out.

Slipper is definitely getting smashed and it has been happening most of the season.

With Godwin Id like to see him straighten the attack more, or even swap with Kurindrani and provide the second ball player out wide which we are missing without Folau or DHP.

Jeeze mate, the last couple have found open ground and put the receivers under plenty of pressure. They've been good.
Australia's kick chase has improved. For all the bitching about the kicks, our primary issue has always been our chase.

Speight has looked good to me. In fact, a number of guys are putting their hands from what I'm watching.
