Last round coming up in what has been an interesting season.
Eagles v Easts
Tuggies v Royals
Wests v Norths
I have a feeling Vikings are going to do Royals and meet the Eagles in the major semi.
That’ll leave a minor between Royals and a rejuvenated Owls.
In other news - Robbo has stepped...
Top of the table clash at Nicholls. The winner here opens up a good gap on Vikings in 3rd.
Wests visit Vikings for what could be another cracker. Wests crack the top 4 with a win. Did anyone see if Chance Peni copped a suspension for his tip tackle? Would have to be a 8-12 week surely?
And...
Very odd to deplete club teams like that for a glorified trial match.
Looked like an interesting game at Nicholls. Watched Wests v QBN. Seems having Luteru & Peni out for Wests was quite big. Whites scrum went forward more often than not

Whites painting themselves into a siege mentality for the weekend. Haven’t given themselves much of a wrap on their own website.
Match of the round on Bar TV with the Eagles and Whites. I really can’t see them winning though. Sokai Tai is done which just...
Wests bombed that game against Vikings. Vikings understrength compared to the previous week with Brumbies commitments. Up by that much and draw the game... anyone would of said it was impossible before they saw it. I bet Robbo was fuming.
Whites have made an underwhelming start? Or were Uni...
Full round to get a better look this weekend. A couple of interesting games.
Whites v Owls -> Whites by 12
Gungahlin v Easts -> Eagles by 23
Wests v Vikings -> Vikings by plenty
Seems the Tahs move to Daceyville has kicked Easts along nicely. Is it pure luck that they’ve landed all the fringe Tahs or smart recruitment? Talent that isn’t playing Super but available for most Saturday’s of Shute will have them close to the top for this season
Uni have lost a bunch of players from what I hear and haven’t shown much in trials. Easts have lost their best players from 2018 also. I may be entirely wrong. Early predictions only.
My predictions are totally different to RoffsChoice too. Could be a very interesting season
Wests play Gordon on round 1 weekend due to their Bye. Gordon will be much stronger this year due to a lot of player recruitment from having the Darren Coleman in charge with what seems like a relatively decent cheque book to play with.
Totally agree. The JID is a good competition in its own right without the player depth or budget of Shute clubs. Easts will be back at the bottom this year and Norths won’t be far in front of them I feel.
Finishing order for 2019:
Vikings
Royals
Eagles
Wests
Whites
Owls
Easts
Royals lost convincingly to Easts yet John I Dent’s Instagram seemed to poke a hole in the Australian club champions today stating the Canberra team didn’t get a shot. Easts didn’t even make the top 6 last season in Shute Shield and Royals were Grand Finalists. It’s a larger gap than people realise
Interesting thoughts. Easts have lost a few too. I don’t think they’re finals bound this year if my sources are correct. Otto Wranokei the centre has gone to QLD to play league and I heard they lost a few to Wests and 1 or 2 to the Whites.
Royals and Vikings will no doubt be top 2 again...
