    AIC Rugby 2013

Although this may be very unfair of me I attribute this years poor performance to the coaching staff at ASH. I believe this was one of the most statistically impressive ASH teams in a number of years but in the games I watched Pat, Villa and Iona it was clear that these standout players were...

Yea couldn't agree more, super nice kid to. He's actually the grade above this (Year 12 2012) if you were ever looking for more information on what code/club he ended up in.

Realistically he probably only notices the play makers and those scoring, not the guys doing the hard work getting them into a position to score (Minus Fahey) Bill went to Nudgee College and into the GPS competition. Fairly certain he chose AFL.

Thank god you're not a selector. Whenever someone posts anything positive about any Ash players you immediately accuse them of being mates that are just talking up there friends. He's listed just as many Iona players as Ash, by your logic that means he's best mates with the Iona team, right...

    AIC Rugby 2013

Iona was noticeably the better team. Ashgrove made the mistake of trying to muscle through the obviously larger Iona boys, had Ash spread out and let there play makers work they might have been in with a fighting chance but they were playing Iona's game from the first 5 minutes. I feel Ash had...

    AIC Rugby 2013

"I have limited knowledge of this years Schooboy Rugby outside of St Peters, Marist and Eddies" My comment was made unaware of the fact that Wilkin who goes to IONA, a school I mentioned not having a strong knowledge in was injured at the time of selection. Aside from that Junior wasn't in the...

    AIC Rugby 2013

I'm unable to speak for anyone else, but as a 25 year old uni graduate, I don't know any of the players personally. I find it amusing that youre allowed to talk up a boy from Eddies, yet I give mention to the performance of Manning, all of which are documented heavily throughout this thread...

    AIC Rugby 2013

Manning has produced standout performances in almost all games this year. As previously mentioned by ruggun11, scoring a hattrick against pats and then being an ASH highlight against Eddies, while also crucial in Marist's late victory against Villa setting up the final two tries in the dying...

Thats what i get for being lazy, i looked at every round except the first. Big end to the season for Ash.

    AIC Rugby 2013

Obviously Peter's could prove a challenge for Ash and Iona (have they played?) respectively, this is beginning to make for quite an interesting wrap up to the season.

    AIC Rugby 2013

Seeing as we are less then halfway through the year, it's likely a significant percentage of grade 11 players could still be 15 years of age. Even is you consider that 16, that's still a three year gap, to clarify they were picked to handle themselves against the best 17 year olds in the...

    AIC Rugby 2013

Well I'm no expert, but I'm guessing the same way they pick AIC 1, but without those players.

    AIC Rugby 2013

Was it a good match? Looks like it's going to all come down to Iona v Ash & Iona v Eddies to decide the title.

    AIC Rugby 2013

Not perfect, but close. Had a chat to a Ash boy the other day. Said the coaches are playing with positions to build up certain players (might be wishing to replicate the performance of the brother in previous years.) Meaning that very skilled players are being moved to the 2nd XV. Shaping up...

Means nothing, at Ashgrove if players want to train with the squad they can regardless of ability. Unless its a risk to there safety haha. In turn it helps with the depth, which is noticeable. Source - close friends at MCA i. Previous years.

    AIC Rugby 2013

A friend was telling me Marist has announced their 36 man tour squad. With big names not having to even trial in certain selection games.

No, I asked as to why he wasn't included in the AIC 1 team. Which I then got my answer for, injury. At no point did I actually compare them. Quote and response edited. FootyHead29 - you haven't been with us in the forum very long; so please read the forum rules before you make another...

    AIC Rugby 2013

Sounds like it would be worthwhile for the AIC team to include both players. Then again there are always decisions that catch me off guard. The MCA v Iona match should be a great one.
