    Australian Schoolboys / Under 18s 2019

As per previous - NSW Schools selection is not the only criteria to make GEN BLUE. It is entirely possible that he didn't have a spot in GEN BLUE prior (but i still think he did if it is the same kid we are talking about). But regardless - if not - the GEN BLUE selectors may have seen he...

    Australian Schoolboys / Under 18s 2019

I think maybe you are a little confused about the new pathway. Yes there was a prelim U18 Academy - this was part of the talent ID process for the GEN BLUE guys. It didn't guarantee you a spot in the GEN BLUE Academy but gave selectors a chance to look at players. The GEN BLUE selectors then...

    Australian Schoolboys / Under 18s 2019

Think you will find he was already in GEN BLUE so withdrew from selection for schools.

    Australian Schoolboys / Under 18s 2019

The NSW Schools sides were only 1 part of GEN BLUE alongside NSWJRU U18s and other already identified players. They can invite in whomever they like really. Not that it matters but how do you know he didn't withdraw from schools selection prior to the NSW sides being picked? There was about a...

    Australian Schoolboys / Under 18s 2019

Western Force play their first Academy game tomorrow against NSW Gen Blue Academy - which is one of the selection trial games for the eventual Australian Schools & U18s.... so they probably more focused on that. The GEN BLUE Academy team is the NSWJRU I team (club Rep pathway)

    Australian Schoolboys / Under 18s 2019

Unfamiliar would depend on where your involvement in the game is :) There are some truly talented boys in this team and a great opportunity for them to be included in the pathway. Hopefully a couple go a whole lot further.

    2018 NSW Junior Championships

No truth at all. State Champs is still an important part of the Club Rep pathway. The Academy model covers both school and club players all the way thru to the Australian Schools & U18s team. Schools and Clubs really only crossover in the U16 and U18 ages anyway. All other ages there are...

    Waratahs 2019

Interesting to see Woolf (non-contracted) getting another go - deserves a crack. Is Ramm injured? What about Suttor?

i don't think you are correct there - coaching staff open to any coaches incl teachers

    Shute Shield 2019

As long as they are Under 18 eligible - Young 'club' players can be selected all the way to the National team. As was the case in 2018 when Max Douglas (Manly colts/Waratahs Academy) whom left school young in 2017 and was selected on he 2018 tour of the UK with the Australian Schools & U18s...

    Shute Shield 2019

Penrith aka the Western Sydney Barbarians have been included and i am told are planning of fielding an U18 colts team as well as regular SRU U20 colts.

    Shute Shield 2019

2019 is going to be an interesting (and hopefully positive) year for club rugby in NSW - particularly Sydney & the Shute Shield, with two major changes on the cards. Firstly is the decision from Rugby Au to change the junior pathways in the U18s to allow club rugby players (that are under 18...

Australian Schoolboys & National Championships 2018

By the same argument - Saying these boys "had their chance" when in year 12 (when they were only turning 17 that year against other kids turning 18) seems to be unfair to them i would think... Why should they be denied the opportunity to play in the nations highest U18 team if they are good...

    Shute Shield 2018

I'd be surprised if Norths were chasing him (Rivers) considering he walked out on the club only 10 months ago.. but that said no idea whom they may be targeting.

    NSW AAGPS 2018

Maybe he got his horizontal and vertical mixed up? didn't quite make the vertical :( Horrible decision by the looks of it.. and even worse if TKS got the penalty...
