Redfield look like they would be a fantastic Oztag team with a slick back three. Forwards are getting out muscled and I think some clubs are figuring this out and using it wisely.
Still so early in the season all but Brothers are alive for finals.

All I can say is F#*K THAT
HAC were up by 40 after 25 mins and in that heat with almost no pre-season it was done. HAC are a quality team and Iggies never had a chance to even have a crack with 35 blokes for 4 grades of footy showing up. I think it was a shock to them to see a team that would not be out of place in DIV...
Yeah they probably will if they can get more than 25 players together.... Brothers knocked them off twice last year and with Beecroft and Redfield seeming strong I don't think there will be any gimmies. Cant comment on other teams in Div as I don't know much about them although Epping seem to...
Very true, but the issue with Pierre Hola was the suggestions that he was being paid to play for Hunter Hill. I have no idea on the matter and am not implying he was, but if that was the case then that's the reason he shouldn't be allowed to play. People shouldn't be banned from playing for a...
Don't know if Shute shield would count as 'professional'. Wouldn't really make sense to force a bloke to sit out a year of rugby so then he can play subbies. Just another way to lose people to rugby.
The rules on NRC players seem good and anyone who has been legitimately professional should...
Can't believe my eyes when i read this! If Iggies are in Div 1 next year it will be nothing but a mess with at least 3 forfeits a weekend and no doubt 100+ put on 1st grade at some point. It wont be recruitment that is the issue it will be keeping anyone currently there.
Iv been told more...
I think it's exactly what they want. To many blokes who are 4th grade players being asked to play 2nd grade div 1 then bench for 1sts. By the end of the year they just don't want to play and weren't fronting. Going down will keep their players from just quitting and without the colts having a...
Does anybody know if Noonan the view 9 will be back? Fabulous young half who probably would of made rep teams if he was a known quantity at start of season.
Completely understandable too with what I have heard. I'm sure Iggies would stay in Div 1 if they had the numbers but the fact is they don't at the moment (which a lot of clubs don't) and because they don't they cant be in Div 1 or 2.
From there it is up to subbies to decide where they land...
Old Ignatians will be venturing down the divisions I'm lead to believe. Struggled for numbers most of season and didn't field 3rd, 4th grades most of 2nd half of season. Because they couldn't field required teams for Div 1 I doubt they will be allowed to enter Div 2 since they have the same...
It's been very disappointing at Iggies this year after a relatively promising start numbers have just dropped and not come back. Having watched most of their 1st grade games they have a reasonable group of players (mostly the forwards) with a few not up to it and no impact guys that you need to...
Riverview has had Aussie rules since the early 2000s. I believe they always had a 14's, 16's & Opens which have been very successful with winning sydney U18's premierships and have a handful of boys drafted to multiple AFL teams. Cant say I ever saw it take away any talent from rugby (I'm sure...
Kings v View was an entertaining game given some poor conditions at times. Defense within each sides 22 wasn't great but as the game went on the Riverview pack was rolling through Kings with a few tight heads occurring.
Thought the Kings no.6 was excellent throughout the game and 15 looked...
True. Have heard the iggies one from Colts may be taken back as no punch thrown. Also the red cards are far more important to Drummoyne following previous seasons.
Seems like some serious defence work needs to be done. Don't have a hope of winning or even progressing to finals conceding these scores. Over 100 points in 3 games. Having said that the team should be better for playing these games in preparation.
Solid team which looks to make minimal errors but be vary aggressive around breakdown. NZ did a job on them so don't know how good they are but they certainly don't give up. Could of beaten Aus if not for individual skill of a couple of Aus replacements.
Hopefully the more they play against...
