Never admit fault. Has worked splendidly through his career. Before I was engaged to pick through the ashes of TEN Network, Hammer had done the media rounds to espouse how well he had restructured the business to finally compete with Nine and Seven. To those that still hold shares in REA...
Correct re. Hodgson. Never played Union. He started as a kicking consultant with Sales Sharks and then must have bumped into EJ (Eddie Jones) in a bar somewhere in England.
Sinfield and Farrell had the benefit of playing Union at a relatively high level in the English system. Edwards the benefit of a coaching apprenticeship at Club level before moving to National level. However, I do acknowledge your point and the comment regarding winger placement under Hodgson...
I should note that Hodgson coached Hull F.C. in the English Super League prior to his role(s) with Eddie, and that team was in the bottom 3 for points conceded and last for missed tackles in his final season as coach. The appointment didn't make sense to me but I'm always open to learning more.
My background is league, so please excuse my ignorance on this subject, but I do find it unusual to use coaches with a league background for defence (e.g. Brett Hodgson). Defensive structures and techniques seem different between the sports or am I well off the mark?
TEN; MFG; and now RA. Consistent themes across all three organisations and yet the offers / roles will keep coming. What an easy ride it would be to be a part of the Club.
That's correct. It is standard for a Deed of Release in this context to include a non-disparagement clause - neither party can say anything negative about the other.
“It’s all very amicable with Eddie and I’ll always be grateful for him jumping in when he did,” McLennan told The Roar [Source: AFR, 30/10/23].
I sincerely hope that response is taken out of context; it otherwise doesn't display much self-reflection.
Now we're talking. In reality, the Chair of RA has known the Murdoch family for decades and may be able to procure their involvement. There is the problem of him overseeing the proverbial 'torching' of a few hundred million of Murdoch's in the Channel 10 saga. But let's not reflect upon that...
Gina hasn't had a good run at it lately with Netball and Swimming. Somebody with a proven track-record of investing in Sport, puts Australia first and has the requisite profile. Yes, I think we all know who is required here:
Perhaps the Wallabies could embark on a tour to play the U.S. Eagles, a tight tussle between Top 10 vs. Top 20 might encourage a new following and increased Private Equity interest?
Administrators have been trying to popularise rugby league in the U.S. since the 1930s, to no avail. Perhaps re-releasing the Wiggles song with the new, and more diverse, line-up will do the trick.
Based on his comments regarding selection approach, I'd give it a red-hot shot around breach of the confidentiality provisions of his Contract. But I appreciate stated concerns about another employment contract saga and the likely impact this will have on being able to close the distressed debt...
