But we’d have to wait for the delayed broadcast and already know the result…
I think the Board in “searching for answers” to the recent inconsistent results thought that pulling the patriotic card would sell.
I said this when Robbie was appointed that there are some very unique things to...
12 penalties against each Australia and Ireland. Last week was quite a bit lopsided (16 OZ, 9 Italy), but the two tests in the previous weeks were pretty even (11 OZ, France 10 and 15 OZ, 14 Scotland)
Come on Nick, you’re downplaying all those “famous victories” that I hear from Sean Maloney
I was just thinking about certain Wallaby losses and is this one worst than that home loss to Samoa in 2011? A fair few first choicers were in that XV (or on the bench) if I recall, but it was one of...
Italy have been playing tests for almost a century. Have been in the 6Ns for more than 20 years where they’ve pulled off the odd big victory. They have a coaching group, led by Kieran Crowley that aren’t without pedigree and good solid experience in the game.
Their ability to move the ball and...
Donaldson on debut misses the conversion. Feel for the kid.
But what a win by the Italians. Some of their running was brilliant.
Ebbs and flows of the game though. Some ordinary discipline from the Wallabies. Some very poor execution by the Italians.
Hopefully they can land a third match.
Rangi is a good young coach and this should be a good test for him. Not sure how much say he will get on the squad he will work with though.
Love the lateral thinking. Problem with that is that is if every player gets that allowance then it will be manipulated as it is in basketball with “deliberate” fouling. We could get “hack a Shaq” situations to stop scoring etc. without an immediate harsh sanction.
Three massive blights/pet peeves on how the maul is officiated and allowed today:
1. Players joining the maul in front of the ball carrier - it happens every single time when the ref lowers his arms after the maul has gone the required distance. They should be made to join at the back and the...
Well I hope they keep selecting Codie just so we can see if you’ll follow through…
Also Im not sure about the unfairly comment regarding Sotutu. He’s behind our best performing forward that is basically an 80 minute player and back up captain. Big fan of Hoskins but this is just the reality of...
White is probably better to help weather an early Eden Park storm. Gordon has good pace and gets to the breakdown quicker (based on live watching), but he did spray it a bit and it took a bit for him and Foley to get humming.
The stadium was packed. The only available seats by kickoff were a handful up on the top tier near the scoreboard where the view is somewhat obstructed.
During the game there were a decent number of people that wanted to stand and watch so they do that behind the seating area, hence why there...
Come on dru, haven’t you heard of conspiracy theories? Large rings in corn fields and movie studios in the desert and all that…
It’s not beyond sports bodies to get pigheaded about something to stick to some (artificial) directive, hence working counter to the coach’s plans.
On Skelton, I...
And sounds like risk to bladder too…
On the Eddie and Wallabies fan incident, was it Eddie or the security guard that clearly recognised the guy because it’s audible in the footage I saw that there’s a recognition and a tone of you’ve done something before.
Filming and posting it is stupidity...
The story behind the Razor nickname is quite funny. It was during his first season with the Crusaders and they were playing the Brumbies and he got Pat Howard in a big tackle and he proudly told the rest of the boys that he cut him like a razor blade with his shoulder. Then everyone started...
Well done Boks and all the resident Saffas on here.
A messy game by both but with some very good in there too. Two very contrasting styles but they can produce such a close encounter - one of the reasons I love rugby.
I think this kid has a big future. There seems to be a maturity in his play where he does the little things right, plus the dynamic play around the field.
