The NRC hasn't even started yet. Who knows whether it will be a success or a failure, yet people like me are already thinking what teams would join if it were to expand to 12 as Bill Pulver had apparently hinted at (I read that he had in another forum). I was just wondering what teams the G&GR...
Good to see some young guns like Hanigan, Deegan and Short in there. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the development squad got some games in the NRC.
In the John I Dent Cup final Ah Wong played in the backs. He absolutely destroyed Queanbeyan, bagging a hat trick and being almost unstoppable.
I think the reason coaches like him in the backs not at 6 is because they want the ball in his hands as much as possible.
I would like for a 16 team comp, with 8 teams each from Australia and New Zealand.
To me, the biggest issue with super rugby is the travel and lack of Australian derbies, but I think this kind of comp would solve that problem.
Oh, from the sounds of what Highlander35 said I thought he was an old bloke not a young buck. My bad.
Nonetheless I think he deserves a chance to play in the NRC.
He sounds like the kind of useful experienced guy who could be a great mentor for the Rebels NRC team, and if he is good enough maybe even a contract with the Rebels super rugby team.
Jamal Idris would be amazing in union, and is way better suited to union than league, mostly due to his size and break tackle ability.
Someone like Sandow, I think would be appalling in union, due to his poor defensive game, lack of size, lack of a brilliant pass and lack of a kicking game.

I imagine that most of the crowd will be singing the national anthem, mostly in protest of SANZARs decision not to play the anthem. I will certainly be singing along.
I think the transfer fee is a good way of stopping the drain and benefiting Australian super rugby. It means that if the clubs sell a player they get some compensation for it, which is better than their current situation where they receive no compensation and it also gives them more say in the...
