It's good to hear that a few people here do like the NRC, but even if the handful of people here would prefer to go to an NRC GF over a Shute Shield one, the TV and crowd figures suggest you're a rare breed.
I get what you're saying, but at the moment I feel we have the worst of all worlds; a...
I hear what you're saying, but to me this offers a good bridge between the desire to develop a third tier whilst also getting the sort of tribal buy in that the NRC is devoid of. The idea of having a final round of recruiting before the start is design to try pick up the fringe players who maybe...
Hi guys - I just posted this on the Roar (will likely be watered down before publishing), but thought I'd put it here as well:
2017 has been a challenging and revealing year for Australian rugby. The Wallabies respectable performance in the Rugby Championship aside, the year has been punctuated...
Hey guys - wondering if anyone could give me a bit of advice.
I am toying with joining a subbies team somewhere in the east, but I haven't played any footy for ages now, and when I did I never played at a very high level (played league as a kid and a bit of union with a Japanese uni team). I'm...
Agree with that completely. Indeed, the ARU squandered its golden years in the period from the mid 90s to the early 00s by failing to understand the importance of development, often instead chasing big name NRL stars like Wendell Sailor or Lote Tuqiri (who wasn't a bad investment to be fair)...
Yeah, it doesn't really work that way mate. You blokes in South Africa would have a hard time understanding it because rugby is the only contact sport you play, but the reality is a lot of very promising players at the school boy level are likely to get scouted by any of our 16 NRL teams or...
^ Agree with this. Short term we're being shown up by the very strong NZ Rugby machine, but the mere fact that our exposure to it has increased so much means we'll learn more

You do realise there's this thing called the NRL that's about ten times bigger than anything Union related and provides a tonne more pro-pathways for potential players in Australia, right? Oh yeah, and in the rest of the Country there's the other multi-billion dollar comp called the AFL.
Do...
So here's the new one
Thoughts?
Not bad really. Better than last years, but I'm still not a fan of those weird wavy things.
I have to say, CCC really do a great job and now that the Kangaroos jersey has no sponsor (taking years off playing any tests will do that) it looks better than ever.
It was a great game and the improvement shown by the Tahs in their set piece in particular over the past couple weeks has been astonishing; beating a Stormers scrum for a tight head to essentially win the game was nothing short of incredible after the season the Tahs have had in that area.
That...
Yeah, it's all political, but with them selling out their first game at home it looks pretty fucking retarded from a PR perspective for the game to be playing games at neutral venues.
Maybe as a compromise the Sunwolves could play all their "away" games against South African opposition at a...
