RIP Test Rugby on the Gold Coast

Agree with all of the above. I see there were 4 junior teams from local clubs playing after the NRC game, which was great, but the majority of people I spoke to through the week had no idea the Wallabies were playing on the coast. Did Gold Coast Rugby advertise the fact the game was on? I...

Agreed, the front row seemed solid, although slightly less so in the 2nd half. Think you're right re: shove from behind. #6 looked like he was only about 60kg, and #8 not much more. Missing the muscle/grunt of Tuuga and Gunter.

Good observations. Who alleges Campbell is the best 10 in Qld? Surely if he was that good he would have been invited to the 2nd round of GPS trials, which from memory didn't happen. I think Horan would give him more than a run for his money.

Couldn't agree more. I didn't see the game, but the boys should have run out ready to play. My point was more that I doubt it was done with malice, and there's no need to have a dig about praying. But if they were late I agree, they should have forgone the pre-game ritual and got straight...

Yes, let's keep to the rugby then shall we? You're the one who brought up the prayer, and in a very snide way, so yes, perhaps we should all just stick to commenting about the game, and leave petty, childish jibes at schools aside. Post script or no post script, it was unnecessary. I promise I...

This is your big concern Monday's Expert?? A prayer on the knee? From what I've been told by parents who watched the game, they'd rather have a group of boys praying than the foul mouthed mob of GT boys sitting near them. Effing and blinding, with parents sitting with them, and nobody bothered...

Christianson playing hooker while Tuuga out. He's played hooker in Rocky. Versatile and mobile player, great to see some depth finally at BBC.

Yep, mere males after all. It's hard luck for Dempsey if that's the case. Even more reason they should have a possible / probables match before the final selections maybe? Freddie D is known by everyone, so doubt there'd ever be a case of mistaken identity there. More the case of re-jigging...

Very valid points. My point also, that the reserve props for GPS 2 out scrummed the run on, albeit against a very weak team, but the scrum was much steadier with Helms and Ball on. Would've been nice to see them against GPS 1 or 3. GPS 3 may have looked dominant because they also were...

Agree with all except Luka. I might be blind, but I didn't see him do much at all. He ran the ball, but he did nothing at the breakdown, and it seems another one through on reputation. In fact, in the first game GPS 2 played on Friday night, the scrum was shocking, and only redeemed itself...

Lazarus is 3rd choice tighthead after Peterson and Christianson. Hasn't been to any fitness all term, so doubtful he would meet the First XV standards.

No operation for Gunter. Sternum not cracked, only bruised, and no damage/bruising to heart. No games now until the season begins, so time to heal.

Very glad to hear, as from all reports, Gunter is a great kid, really well liked by all. And not just the BBC boys, but the blokes he's played in rep sides with as well. And you're right, that's one of the best things about the game we love - The little bloke can be as dynamic as the big fella...

Kiwi pride?? Seriously? Seeing a boy having his sternum broken/cracked and writhing in agony? I've known some kiwis in my time, and none of them would be happy to see that.

Brilliantly said. I don't believe for a minute that Phillpotts, DOR at BBC, and Aussie schoolboys coach would EVER condone the supposed cheering of an injured player.
