Definately the number 4 Moretti is a standout in the forwards and the number 14 in the backs . However as the man says all players punching above their weight
Good Call - we have to assume that the lads picked are the right lads picked. Too much whining on boys not being picked really. Let the boys who were picked celebrate their success and believe in their selection
One can only assume he didnt place his best foot forward in yesterdays trials? givent that selection is supposedly based on trials if he didnt play well what does one say to the lad who played better than him on the day?
is selection based on the trials only?
a question for the experts - if one of the lads was apparently injured and sat out the trial game and picked of his track record - is that therefore not encouraging boys of similar stature to do the same? For eg one assumes Reimer had a shocker perhaps and may have been better off concentrating...
Well said and lets give our support to the lads selected and the other lads not selected i am sure will come out firing for their schools and clubs no doubt - which isnt always a bad thing!
Mate based on watching Knox v trinity on Saturday you cannot afford to leave Trobec out although he was playing number 8. Hit ups, big hits, line breaks - the key difference between the two teams . Haven't seen earlier games however
Knox number 8 - I think Trobec playing out of position was sensational.the key difference between the two teams
Knox number 10 and 7 also looked effective . Surprised how close the game was though
Cranbrook had a great second half kicking game . Much better than knox
quote="SonnyDillWilliams, post: 840205, member: 8546"]I reckon that is pretty respectable from Cranbrook 16As
Waverley and Knox too me are slipping
to be fair .. Waverley are missing 2 of their best in Murphy and...
Yeah the KNox forward with white headgear was driving hard and some great steals and played positionally well. He was the forward of the game. Number 3 from cranbrook a close second
Backs from KNox had a lot of class
Fair
fair enough - take the point. I haven't seen enough of both of them although perhaps barbarians wasn't Freers best days. Trobec playing for the 16a means that he's probably half decent given Knox were CAS a winners . Add the two Waverley lads m&m.
My concern with the forwards is after watching 2015 cas u16, there wasn't a back to basics formula. Plenty of size but fundamental stuff - tackling, breakdown, phase play . Give me a team of competent players respected by their own peers who go in their and toil- then let the flashy backline...
Have to agree cameron is the complete package. Towns would need to come off the bench perhaps or replace sharriot. The act boy is a must playing for trinity . Still need to take a closer look at the forward options .
Is this a Knox based team ? I haven't seen too much from the Knox forwards - not sure if freer or Trobec should be there ?? Saw freer play at barbarians and he was quiet - not sure if I have seen Trobec play for reps?
Yes I saw the act player playing for trinity and he had a lot of dazzle dazzle flair in his attack - speed and evasion . Although tackling was so so. A bit of a Ben sharriot effect -
Trobec is a year 10 boy playing in 16As - wheras the other boys playing in the u15s.
Knox definately dont like sharing their players to external pathways
