How would you know? GPS schools have played (2 trial games)? I saw Ashgrove and Padua play this year in AIC. Two good teams, however, i think these are the only teams that could compete with the lower ranked teams of the GPS comp (which no one knows who that will be this year)
Don't get your knickers in a knot King. These aren't the GPS teams, these are the 2nd round of trials to make the GPS teams. They will be resting players like Len Ikatau, knowing that he will already be playing for GPS 1. These trials are used as a chance for the lesser known kids to make their...
A great opportunity for Greene to play in Japan, and a big loss for the Reds. Can't blame him for leaving given he has played probably a combined total of 60 minutes of Super Rugby in 2016.
Having watched a considerable amount of Premier Rugby and NRC over the past few years, there is no doubt...
Managed to watch some of the games on the weekend out at TSS and thought I'd add my two cents.
Churchie and TGS did not look overly impressive, plenty of lose carries and handling errors, with a large majority of their game spent packing scrums. 9 and 10 from Churchie look like they have...
The post about the new boys at Nudgee which I'm assuming has been deleted had no mention of scholarships though? It merely asked someone to confirm that they are at Nudgee. Doesn't really make sense IMO o_O
So a BGS team so far I've heard may look like this (using TK's information too)
1. Emile Tuimavave (new boy, qld 15s)
2. Mitch Straker (2015 1st XV)/ Max Eiszele (injured all of 2015, apparently was meant to start)
3. Harry Masselos (played a couple of 1st games in 2015)/ Max Eiszele
4. Joe...
BGS team prediction anyone?
Looks like an interesting year this year, with BBC and TSS the frontrunners. BBC with Ikatu (Aus Schools) and Simpson (Qld Schools) returning for another year of grade 12 should really bolster their team.
NC may be a bit off the mark this year with the majority...
fraser mcreight (BGS) will be one of the better players in the comp next year. going into 3rd year of first XV and played combined states this year at the nationals comp. was the best player in a pretty poor BGS team this year.
What I do see as a problem is when schools decide to bring in 10-15 players in their senior years to essentially 'buy a premiership'. This is proven to not be an effective method. In this situation, I think it is fair to single out BBC. I would bet that the majority of their team that ran out...
