Finn Wright got a late call up to replace Drew-Morris & played with great courage. Scored a brilliant try backing up Tyzac on the quick tap & ran through Bosch & evaded 2 others!
Finally! A team to compete with GPS. I'd name 7 fresh reserves for this one to avoid and absolute pantsing and actually have a chance.
1-Wav
2-Upton K
3-Wayland -T
4- Frost K
5- Drew Morris W
6- Rasch T ( captain)
7- Kemeny C
8- Basson K
9 Jordan W
10 Dainton A
11 Mohi W
12 Fuller W

Yet it was a shame to see so few Waverley people there. They are very exciting to watch and could have done with some more moral support when things turned in the second half
Great game by Waves & congrats to Knox for turning it round. If Waves had Captain Drew-Morris to settle things would have been interesting. The 2nd Round will be a cracker and with it all to play for but ONLY if both regroup as they will be vulnerable after this ferocious encounter.
Waves must...
Personally I like the feel to this match. Good weather. Good build up. And this Knox team when on show against some real pressure buckled v the Joeys boys. And Waves always turn up! Leaguies always do! I think Waves will have a real crack at the tackle as this is an area where Knox could be...
Nonetheless the tradition remains. Knox have all the gear and chat and resources and Waverley - a nursery of countless Wallabies over the years remains their biggest thorn in their side & have an edge in mental toughness. Game on!
And Cornish is an ex Wallaby and one of the shrewdest coaches going around.
CAS has produced a multitude of rep players from the likes of Finegan Shephard Gleeson Charles Alexander Foley Stirzaker Sio Debrezni
CAS beat GPS every 3 - 4 years on average until the CAS stopped using Aths to lead...
Managed to in 2013, 2014 ! 3 out of 6 aint bad. And this Waverley outfit is probably better than 2013. Knox are just a bunch of teenagers like our mob.,
Also - that breakaway in the Aloysius game who collapsed the maul, brain explosion, nearly got given a red for repeat infringements late in the second half. That would have been a one game suspension. Was it Moretti or O Sullivan? Anyway, those guys are key to winning the match. They should be...
Waverley won't have a chance though if they give away stupid penalties. From
memory 2 deliberate infringements in the red zone resulted in Yellow cards v Aloysius. They gave another away v Trinity. Play Knox with 1 man down and you might as well give them the chocolates.
Personally I do not agree with Wayne " the Pain" McLean. Joeys gave Waverley a blue print of how to beat them. Pretty simple. Get the footage of that and it's as easy as 1, 2 .....errr.....3
