Metro FTA Audience was 323,000
- sneaked into the top 20 highest shows of the day
- NSW 145k
- QLD 70k
- Vic 53k
- WA 34k
- SA 20k
All only capital city figures
So add Stan, regional, Canberra, etc. can easily see where the 429k average was coming from
It’ll be 6 games almost every week. To fit 16 rounds of 6 games and 1 bye week it would take 17 weeks. To fit 4 games a round it would take 24 weeks to complete the regular season meaning for the final to be played this week the season would of had to start early December last year.
Shoulder I believe against the Force. It was a disputed one at the time when Eloff came back on to win the scrum for the game but legit hurt himself seriously
That is not an official data source. It’s a site that relies on information been provided by contributors and isn’t reviewed or endorsed by anyone. Don’t get me wrong crowds are poor but I wouldn’t be reading half of what is available on the internet unless it comes from a creditable journalist...
Some very good players missed out due to injury as well.
Mosese Tuipulotu
Joey Walton
Aedo Kailea
Who knows, maybe they wouldn’t of made it even if they were fit but great to see huge talent coming through. We have officially gone from a 5-8 range team on talent for years with 1-2 class...
As per Rebels comms
DHP - ???? Most likely Japan but love to see him at the Force
Naisarani - Japan (confirmed)
Koroibete - Japan (confirmed)
Pincus - retiring (joining Melbourne Rebels partner on a professional basis)
Cummins - France (Pau)
Lomani - Fiji (I presume Drua)
27 players from this...
Read my TT post in the other thread. A full 22 week comp is actually impossible. The comp for teams to have 22 rounds (play everyone twice), 2 x byes and 2 weeks of finals would have to start before Xmas to finish a couple of weeks out from test season. I’m sad enough to watch an Xmas day clash...
It would require NZ to reduce or remove the NPC. Which isn’t going to happen. But yes could be an option for Aus however that’s something I don’t think Aus would ever realistically ask NZ to give up.
I was at every match, you’re talking shit. It was essentially the same as it has been the last couple of seasons which is between 7-9k. Poor but nothing any worse than it had been in previous seasons.
Again some people on here incapable of understanding 2 competitions in a season. Someone even said super rugby this year was only 4 home games, is it just me or did each Aussie team have 6 home games (minus Covid effected games) or 7 for some that got the extra fixture with the magic round been...
Am I the only one thinking that doesn’t look as good as it did this year with Miotti and Cubelli? Fingers crossed they hold onto Kurindrani.
Another Callan or two and I will quickly change my mind.
Not sure if there is a single sport in Australia that had a resurgence in crowds
AFL - down
Big Bash - down
A League - down
NBL - down
NRL - up in W Sydney (because teams are winning there) but down in others like the Broncos
No league is winning the crowds issue, largely because of Covid...
Summary
Reds have defense issues almost as bad as the Rebels over the season
Tahs lost by 22.46 points on average
Force incompetent attack
Rebels below average in every area bar 1
Brumbies most rounded team
Thought I’d put together some stats for the Aus team across all 13 games they played (no finals included).
Hopefully gives a clearer idea of what went on over the season and identify strengths and weaknesses of teams compared to perceptions.
Points for;
1 - Reds (396) 30.46 ppg
2 - Brumbies...
I worry that there is no strike in that side. Need to bring someone in that can change a game or make the opposition at least have to plan around their skill set.
