Wow, Aloys look very strong this year and it was an absolute shame to have missed this match after watching that. A brilliant team effort. Waverley were entirely disrespected at Death Valley, a mighty feat and one I’m sure the Aloys boys will remember for the rest of their lives. Their next...
WLF, Im suggesting Knox & Waverley are perceived as the strongest two sides, probably I would tip Waverley to win the comp personally at this point.
Also Im not a Knox supporter, I'm supporting Aloys & hoping they can string a few wins together this season.
In regards to the Waves Aloys game today, here were a few points I gathered:
- Best on field from Waverley was 3 (Finn Wright) who had a big running game, breaking several tackles, & 4 (Luca Moretti) specifically for his strong offload game.
- From Aloys 12 (Pat Flaherty) was exceptional in a...
Waverley 47 def Aloys 6
Best on field Finn Wright (W3) & Luca Moretti (W4)
Wright went on injured in the final minutes.
I'll write up some comments and post them at some point this weekend
Frost (2nd Row)
Coghill (Hooker)
Reimer (Back Row)
Moretti (2nd/Back Row)
Wright (Hooker)
Coghill will need to work on his throw. Rahme from Aloys is also a talented front rower who can play both hooker and prop.
THB, I would place these boys in with a strong chance based on 2016 performance
- Frost (K)
- Coghill (B)
- Reimer (B)
- Moretti (W)
- Wright (W)
And my early predictions for season 2017:
1. Waverley
2. Barker
3. Knox
4. Aloys
5. Trinity
6. Cranbrook
Here is my early predictions for a few boys with opportunity for representative honours, albeit limited knowledge on 16s players from 2016 rising to next years opens. Several worthy options within the back row, however I struggled to find a player with the size of a true 8. Perhaps a big...
My thoughts on a few teams next season:
Barker in particular I feel will have more success than their 2016 campaign, with several players returning. They should have a strong forward pack lead by Coghill & Reimer, & their backline should appear more fluent behind their strong returning 9/10...
