    2019 School Rowing

Just had a quick look at SB8+ entries for Nationals. 21 entries so far (think entries closed today but not sure if that is a really hard close or not). The surprise for me is NSW - no travel costs, home ground etc - only 2 entries (Shore and Joeys) - the same number of entries as each of WA...

    2019 School Rowing

Apart from Scotch winning given their results a week ago, not sure too many would have predicted the SB8 result today. Shore placing 5th as the best NSW crew was a surprise to say the least - but not nearly as much as Scotch 2nd 8 coming 4th.

MR - fair to say Scotch has dominated APS rowing in Victoria for a long time. They have won all but 2 of the 1st VIII races at HOR since 2004 (the other 2 were Melbourne Grammar) and their depth (at least the last 5 years) all the way down to Year 9 has been impressive. Brighton Grammar and St...

    2019 School Rowing

Clean sweep by Scotch over Shore (and everybody else) in Open School VIIIs at Nagambie this am. Not ideal weather conditions in Victoria today (as demonstrated in the times). 1st VIIIs - Scotch 1st in 6:28 with Shore 2nd - margin ~7 seconds. 2nd VIIIs - Scotch 1st in 6:49 with Shore 2nd -...

    2019 School Rowing

Scotch have 6 returning from last year's 1st VIII (including 1 from Henley winning 2017 crew) - all 6 were in the crew for the Barwon regatta - looks like 1 has been dropped for the regatta tomorrow.

    2019 School Rowing

Scotch 2nd VIII posted times at Barwon a few weeks back that were generally faster than all of the 1st VIIIs that day (other than Scotch 1st VIII of course) - so expect them to be quick against Shore on Saturday. Brighton Grammar 1st VIII still has not fronted a Victorian regatta this season...

    2019 School Rowing

Sincere apologies sanker - I mistakenly thought Lindommer (who has been around here on this forum a lot longer than you or I) was not asking a rhetorical question regarding Melbourne boys/girls rowing. Also very sorry for asking for some insights on GPS rowing rules as compared to APS here in...

    2019 School Rowing

Hi all - just found this site and thought would give some colour from south of the border... Melb boys 1st VIIIs - Scotch predicted to be strong again with 6 returning from last year's winning 1st VIII (understand 1 has been dropped to the 2nd VIII) - they had a convincing win at the Melbourne...
