That 100% is grassroots. There are some instances (mostly in regional areas) where they can't support a junior system , in those cases the grassroots is the point where they can feasibly participate in the sport. Otherwise, yes you are correct.
Yeah look I'm always happy to see Brumbies supporters come back to earth but I'm first and foremost a Wallabies supporter. So when they need to brought back to earth I want it to be against an Aussie side. Brumbies are better than that, there were some shit individual performances for sure...
I realise that but I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that by the time August 10th comes around this will be a non issue. The clubs will make their own arrangements to fit in with the timing of the Test and it won't make one bit of difference to the players whether they are playing at...
You are making the wrong comparison - the analogy to your loig example there would be to schedule the Test Match at the same time as the Reds v Tahs game. The equivalent for the clash in league would be the Burleigh Bears v the Ipswich Jets.
I don't think it's quite the ultimatum 'if you don't like it then reschedule'. However, RA's objective is to get as many bums on seats as possible at the ground and to enhance the experience. Just as day tests aren't all that friendly for 1st grade players night tests aren't all that friendly...
At the end of the day I am sure the clubs will work out the most suitable approach and schedule their games accordingly. Re Friday nights I was thinking more of the Sydney clubs I have to confess, although the game is in Brisbane I am sure the Shute first graders would like to watch it.
That game v SAF was announced as a 3:45pm kick off back in February - I'm not sure which release is out by an hour. I think it's more about PhilW wanting arvo games than what the NRL are doing. A bit of Column A and Column B as PhilC said elsewhere.
No I meant that the person in the crowd made a bigger deal of it after the event, the part about personal jokes wasn't meant in this instance but I can see why you thought that, I could have worded it more clearly.
Yes look I totally understand that, and outright racism, or vilification for any views, has no place in the sporting arena. The point is that often the public/onlookers want to make a bigger deal out of things than the people who are actually involved in it, sometimes it could even be a...
No you aren't, this is merely another street corner for you to try and implant your non-rugby agenda onto others out of context. FWIW, recognising that like your comment, this has nothing to do with the Melbourne Rebels 2024, I think Lehrmann is a grub. However I also don't have much respect...
Yes but as others have said there aren't all that many foreign based players who would realistically be in contention for the Wallabies this year. There are a few beyond the 3 already covered by the current restrictions that would be worthwhile squad additions but that's about it.
I wonder if this could be a deliberate pre-cursor to us abandoning Super Rugby in favour of a domestic NPC/Currie Cup style competition. if RA recognise it isn't working, it's better to at least keep the senior players in the game than to defect to the NRL. Then create a proper domestic comp...
He wasnt in career best form in Supe but he then got injured and didn't get an opportunity to prove himself after that. I couldn't be arsed going back through the 2023 threads - more to the point I dont want to revisit them - but from memory he was certainly in the discussions up until the...
Whilst I don't disagree with this post in general, there's a lot of #10 experience you are writing off there. Not so much with the intention of picking them to start I would have at least one of these three in the squad, probably one of the latter two. I'd leave both Arnolds out of the...
The general feeling was that Harrison was the most talented of that U20s crop which included Lolesio and Donaldson, but he has been forgotten, through no-one's fault as he has been injured. It was also generally considered that he needed time, and he's now had that in spadefuls. It will be...
