    QLD GPS Rugby 2014

Mate, BBC have already recruited better than the Church of Scientology. They will easily be top 3 and must be a good shot at the Premiership for the first time since leather rugby balls were used. Churchie are furiously trying to catch up and Nudgee will be Nudgee....that's your top 3.

    QLD Premier Rugby 2014

If they have come from the Grammar First XV last year then they will be used to getting towlled up every game

Yeah I think if you get the GPS pathway right then you can get the other channels right. Associated schools, clubs etc. The facts are most pro rugby players in the last 10 years have come out of the GPS comps in Sydney and Brisbane, so it's the obvious place to focus. That said, League are...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

So what is your point? Surely you must admit the quality of First XV rugby in Sydney and Brisbane is extremely high and is an entertaining spectacle for the many thousands who get out and watch it every weekend? If that's the case thenwhy can't the ARU take advantage of that and manage those...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

I think the real problem is that there is no defined pathway for elite Rugby Players once they leave school. If they go to League they will play in an Under 20, nationally televised competition. If they go to AFL they play in a national junior competition representing one of the major AFL teams...

Quite a few picked up by Churchie and Nudgee too.

5 x GT players - you are kidding obviously

One of the best, and for that matter mature, rugby players I have seen this year is Gavin Luka and he is also back next year (according to this thread). Don't know his age but he is obviously still 17 or under. So I agree it's not just about having the older players to be successful. The key...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Yeah it was a game between to crap Colleges and they still get 20,000. I think you are agreeing...if they can play NSW Cup and the NSW Schools League comp on 9, then surely 10 or Fox could be asked by the ARU to cover a GPS match of the round. Regardless of the "upper class" sects you refer...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Can the G&G Rugby Community mount a serious cause to get Brisbane and Sydney First XV Match of the Rounds shown on either Free to air or Foxtel? I was watching College Football from the US the other day (20,000 at the game and millions watching on TV) and I was speaking to a mate of mine who...

It shows how tough this comp is. I said a few weeks ago the Grammar Rugby support group are getting T-Shirts printed with "2013 Penthouse to the Outhouse" on them. it was said in jest, but it shows if you have one year where you struggle with depth in a few key positions - then you end up with...

I didn't see the game, but credit to Nudgee for a clinical win to put one hand on the cup. It's now a fight for second. GT will have their work cut out against Churchie this weekend (The Range Rover/Ralph Lauren set aren't happy) and BBC should roll Ippy. The Spray Tans (tks MondayEx that's...

Round 6: TGS V TSS The boys from Southport go up the hill to put themselves in a position to pounce if Nudgee falter. The farmers have been less than good this year and it would seem the best thing coming out of TGS rugby in 2013 are the Bacon & Egg sandwiches (but they are bloody good). I...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Good summation - Monday Exp. No doubt over the last few years all schools that were in that second tier have picked up their game in terms of coaching, development and attracting talent. You are right that Qld rugby will win out of this renewed standard lift. If our competition can...

3 rounds to go punters. Obviously NC look to be in the box seat. But have a bye, so they should finish on 14. Unless the Switch spring a surprise!? I'll come back to that. BBC have the bye this week. And will finish on 12 if they roll IGS and TSS at home in the last games. TSS will fall short 0f...

NC Vs GT The lads in the red and black were as excited as a dog with 2 proverbials after last weeks win over BBC. But from all reports, whilst they played well, the College had a shocker and BBC are half the team without el captino. Sorry red/black but prepare for a Blue Wash...they are gonna be...

Great idea Chruchie. Well done for doing this. Each school should do one live stream per round. That way friends, relatives and passionate old boys from around the world (or who just can't get to the game), can stay close to GPS rugby. Why wouldn't you?

    QLD GPS Rugby 2013

Light, I agree with you on the top 3, but I don't think you are giving the lads from the Far Eastern Darling Downs enough respect. The Switchers only just lost to Terrace and to State High (who rolled Churchie and were not far off BBC). It'll be close I think...
