Heard there was controversy in the 1st 8 race between Kings and Shore wrt lane infringement and manhandling one of the boys oars by the coxswain. Would have though DQ if true ?
MR
Unless Shore's 1 8 is any good the Vic schools will get all the podiums. Be interesting to see how good they will be though doubt they will beat Scotch who again look the school to beat.
Just looked at the results in the Junior crews and Shore looking v strong. Dont think the Yr 8s or 9s lost a...
Just on the Shore thing, many parents like that it has become more academic as well in the last 20 odd years. The soon to be leaving Headmaster had a lot to do with this and think its a good thing. Sport and winning became less of a focus and is more on getting all kids academic results heading...
I think it is more than the above ie. go out hard and dont falter tactic from Shore. Its the culture within the shed. Joeys have it in rugby and Shore have it in rowing. You walk in the shed as a year 7 boy and you know that this place has a winning culture. Every crew is always competitive and...
Well done Shore, their shed culture is incredible, no scholarships with just hard work and a will to win. While they won by a whisker I think they deserved it given they won the majority of races this year. Kings had a great race as well !
Yep, bring on 2020 and hopefully have more interest on...
Lets hope for a good race tomorrow. Hopefully Shore can do it, bit unlucky last year though all credit to Iggies, and they have been the strongest crew this season, albeit close racing in every race. Fingers crossed they can but whoever wins, enjoy the day !
MR
Not so certain that they are hanging on for dear life. The boys are pumped, great bunch with a great spirit. If there's a club with a better spirit then I'm Jesus of Nazareth. May the best crew win !
While I go for Shore, its anything other than in the bag. Last year we arguably had the best crew winning all but the HOTR race from memory. So it really depends on who turns up mentally the strongest. Particularly this year when I cant remember another when about the top 4/5 schools have a shot...
Like all school sports should be, each year brings something different. This year Shore don't look as strong and Scotch look to be very strong. Last few years I think Shore has held the upper hand though it does alternate. Scotch seemingly have an iron grip down south as their rowing programme...
Could be closer than you think though definitely times look to be slower this year so the winner could come from a number of schools. Riverview and Shore arguably have the best programme atm so suspect either will be the crew to beat.
I am not that familiar with Riverview rowing though a quick...
