I've just set up a team in the Deloitte Games, I'll admit that I work for them but this is a pretty slick production and should be a pretty cool fantasy experience.

If you're keen then register a team over at http://www.deloittegames.com and join the G&GR league with PIN 398363.

Phelps is a must.
You have to pick a country for each of 10 disciplines, all within budget.
Due to the number of swimming events and the USA's strength, they'll use 65% of your entire budget! I went Zimbabwe in the pool, hoping for Kirsty Coventry to get up in 3 events.

Yeah just realised that, picked them anyway at the expense of some lesser countries in other disciplines. South Africans and Poms wouldn't be a bad choice in the pool either.

I thought about that, but have never met a Pom who could swim..

I have entered.

It looks fun but is largely guesswork. To do the research and weigh up the best deals would take weeks.

But it should keep me interested in events like Boxing (cmon Cuba) or Synchro swimming (cmon Japan).

I'm really looking forward to what shows up on the analytics tab through the games - we've got some very smart people in that division and I expect they'll be using the games as an opportunity to show analytics in practice..

I'd just like to point out while it still lasts, I'm currently in the lead. :)

The Chinese swimmers have done me good. I'm not too hopeful of the rest of my selections, especially the Armenian weightlifters. Not sure what I was thinking there.

Only one of my specialist events have passed. The women's 3m synchronised diving, where the chinese won gold. Now I just need the Czech Republic to take out the mens 66kg greco-roman wrestling and Denmark to take out the women's volleyball. I'm not holding my breath.

Looking forward to seeing how everyone progresses. The Glowing Hearts and the Hacks are only 1 and 2 points behind.

Good luck everyone. Hopefully your version of Armenian weightlifters win the gold.
