A quiet little retirement

Hello to all that can find this post. I don't want this posted anywhere more public since I'm just not that relevant to the forum any more. Which is good. But I do have to write something quick just to say that I'm retiring from the forum as a poster, and I wanted to thank everyone who has helped make the old Yellow Scarf into the internet sports juggernaut that it is today.

So, cheers to the early guys who I dragged over here from the dark side: jonnosan, nicktheaussie, PaarlBok , barbarian, Lindommer, noddy (RugbyReg) and the key man for quality - Lee Grant.

Of course, Gagger and Moses have hit this place like a tornado (and not the Ballymore kind) and helped fulfill all the ambitions I had for the place. It was the stuff that people like Juan Cote, Lance Free and Scott Allen were writing that convinced me to call up Gagger in his secret volcano lair and make an offer.

A special thanks to cyclopath for being a better moderator than I ever was.

If anyone still needs to consult my views on Robbie Deans or Richie McCaw, turn up at the Alex Hotel in Leura on a rugby night. Look for a fat bloke sitting with a tall bloke.

In the end, I was the first person through the doors of the ARC and the bastards can't take that away from me!! [Tears up, puts down microphone, walks off stage.]

Any and all of us who love this place should give a virtual standing ovation to Scarfy, without whom it would not have happened. Sorry to not see you around from now, but we'll catch up at some stage for a real beer, nothing virtual about it.
Thank you, Scarfy.

Mate, I haven't been around here long but I have always liked your contributions here. You're one of the blokes that I would love to buy a beer for and have a yarn. First I'll have to find out where Leura is.

Anyway, all the best. I had no idea how integral you are to this place being what it is, so for that - thanks!

Sad to hear it mate, New Zealanders the internet over will be mourning the loss of a sparring partner. Enjoy your vast reams of future spare time, and if I find myself in Leura on a rugby night I'll be approaching every fat bloke I can find.

Mate - sorry to see you hang up the key board, but rest assured your place in the G&GR Hall of Fame and pantheon of Australian internets is set.

I'm standing and clapping. People are looking at me funny but I don't care.

That beer is assured when we meet.

All the best Scarfman. We'll all have to start up some arguments with Queenslanders and Kiwis in your honour.

Can't you do a Sir Ritchie video post as a "go out with a bang" retirement post?

You have it in you.

It would be a good legacy to leave.

Scarfy, all the very best to you and yours.

Thanks for all you've done for the place. You helped create a space where I would (sadly?) get a great deal of personal fulfilment, during some tough times too.

Enjoy your new life AG (After GAGR)
