Griffith Uni have named their squad and it's a cracker.

Ellen Field, Kiri Lingman, Samantha Lingman, Eloise O’Brien, Georgie Friedrichs, Marama Thomas, Ngaupoko Masters, Laura Waldie, Katie Curtis, Kahli Kenwood, Eloise Schlecht, Ivania Wong, Cecilia Smith, Georgia Devlin, Marlugu Dixon, Shannon Mato, Charlotte Kennington, Alana Elisaia, Courtney Hodder, Alysia Lefau-Fakaosilea, Yolanda Gittins.

Sammy Treherne, Lilly Dick and Demi Hayes are the assigned 7s players, which is a talented batch. In addition they have Wallaroos MAto, Elisaia and Lefau-Fakaosilea who will be in the Aussie 7s squad soon enough. Then there's Fridrichs, Waldie and bloody Courtney Hodder who is a dynamo. Chuck in a couple of QLD players in Lingman and Wong and thee's a lot of depth there.

I thought so too. I think there was a bad injury there and then a relocation for personal reasons to QLD. A great get. Hopefully we keep her.

University of Tasmania have got the boot. Not sure the story there - either some largesse has run out, or it's not worthwhile going there?

If it's the latter, you've got to question why they got a team in the first place.
