Why not? Super rugby franchises want game time during this break for their non-Test players. France are using this tour as a development so they want as many games as possible, old school tours and all that..

It is cool. Old school tour!!!! Anyone know the side the blues are putting out? They have a game this weekend don't though.

Sounds pretty reasonable, and what's more the playing styles of Les Frogge and Les JAFA are similarly unpredictable.

Could be a very exciting game.

Roger. Ill defiantly be watching it. Can't wait! Good quality rugby during the week. Shame about all the other tests that ain't being shown on fox though

The French are coming to Australia in 2014 so I hope they can fit in a couple of tour games as well.

I reckon Cheiks wouldn't mind a Tahs A team against the French.

Right...this can't go on...it's "definitely", not "defiantly". :)

The Blues side will be well below full strength.

Would have pitted a Moari team against them

Yeah....that would have been great. If it wasn't in the middle of the Super season still, it may have been an option.

Normally though, they don't play the touring team and the tourists don't usually have mid-week games anymore.

Midweek games are a forgotten aspect of tours. Touring a country is not suppose to be easy and for site seeing. It should be hard as possible (competing wise) and if you get demolished you know it will be due to a lack of effort and commitment.

But in the old days Rassie, the boys didn't have all these bloody team meetings and whiteboard sessions and video review, so they got time to get out and see the place.

Blues team named, no Luatua, Weepu, Piutau, Braid, Ranger, Sailli, ....or Williams (though that could be a positive)

I think the Frogs will destroy them up front. We'll see.

Reserves: 16. Quentin MacDonald, 17. Angus Taavao, 18. Liaki Moli, 19. Ronald Raaymakers, 20. Sean Polwart, 21. Chris Noakes, 22. Tevita Li, 23. Wayne Ngaluafe

Nothing riding on the game, big game on Saturday, this is exactly the kind of game the French don't turn up for. Big chance for the Blues if they can stop the French getting on top at scrum time.

Lots of ill discipline from the Blues, 12-3 to France after 25. Score could blow out if the Blues don't improve

France ran away with it in the end with a dominant forward performance. Their young midfielders looked strong as well.

A few of the Blues players played well, though Moala looked dangerous.

But similar to the BIL v CC game, it was very much boys among men for most of the game.

That is about what 3 hours needed to see the whole Island of NZ?
