Re: mst's video of the lock.

WTF! Firstly the commentator saying there was "definitely a bite" is insane because there's no evidence of it. Secondly, the opposition player didn't lash out making me wonder if he was even sure. Thirdly, I've never seen foul play take place by the try scorer as he scores, it would be very out of the ordinary.

For him to get charged off that (even if it was thrown out eventually) is just ridiculous, you can't blame Joubers because he took the recommendations around him who are meant to be looking out for this stuff.

As a side note, SA commentators are just the worst. When a known niggler like Etzebeth starts shit they always say something along the lines of "Someone must have riled him up", when he's obviously the antagonist. They're so biased it makes me mad. I usually mute it.

I hear he will be involved somewhere.

Saw Dan Palmer today. He literally is a shadow of his former self.

He has lost a shit load of weight and I didn't recognise him.

With the reason for his retirement being recurring stress fractures in his foot, surely that's why he would be so different.

Yep. I'd also like to see (and don't want this to be taken the wrong way) but I'd also like to see the Brumbies looking at getting Pat McCabe involved in coaching.

According to the ABC the word on McCabe is that he is going for a 2nd opinion on his neck injury which makes it sound like it's rather serious.

In other news, I hear the Brumbies may announce the new captain sometime this week

It sounds like Pat McCabe's rugby career is over after the 2nd opinion confirmed the initial fears on his neck

Same line on ABC news radio this morning.

Sad news. Hard as a coffin nail and fearless as a lion. Hope he is not lost to the game, if he chooses to retire.

Based on some of the muppets Fox employs, if he's got half a brain & can string 7 words together I'm sure they'll find him a gig.......

Does he really have any choice? Sounds bad for the poor lad, but thinking in the long term, it would seem that he's got Buckley's chance of remaining a professional rugby player.

Edit:
Looks like he has taken the Specialists advice, according to Bernie.

McCabe will meet with Wallabies doctor Warren McDonald today before making an official decision, but Larkham told ABC radio that McCabe had "made the decision he's not going to play again".

Really feel for the guy. Would be great to do some sort of tribute to him, maybe a simple Highlights video? I'm sure G&GR could russell something up!

In other news, Stephen Moore is expected to be the new Brumbies captain which is announced today.

Doubt it will be Pocock after the just tweeted he's still lying in bed after having his tonsils out the other day.

I'd expect the natural progression will see Pocock captain one day. Moore too leave after 2-3 seasons, Pocock playing 2-3 seasons and getting back to his best then taking over Captaincy.

Sensible choice with Moore.

Agree, and I don't think Pocock would want it straight away after coming back from his 2nd major knee injury. He needs to focus on playing first.
