Without Ita and Poey next week, the back row is looking very shaky if Butler can't play as well. Even if he does, and assuming Michael Wells gets a go at 7, then the backrow will probably look like Fardy, Wells, Butler, with Smiler again on the bench. But if Butler isn't fit, then it looks like Smiler to 8, but who covers on the bench?

Understand Penca went off injured in the JID on Saturday. Probably need someone who has No 7 skills in case MW doesn't shape up. Would be great to have had Rohan Perry as an option. Who now? I also like Killingworth, but he is currently committed to the 7s.

Saddened to read about Ita retiring today. He handled it like a gentleman. I will always remember him for his hard running and a mighty heart. I wish him and family a bright and prospreous future.
Ita you will always be a Brumbie, thanks for all the great rugby...

^^^^Worked both ways! He was signed to go O/S last year, but a health issue with his child made him want to stay. The O/S club agreed to rescind the deal and the Brumbies offered him a lifeline.

This was the match that convinced me he was going to be our best 8, and the one we've been searching for since Kefu.

He comes on at 55mins on the gameclock and unleashes. Imagine if we had that coming on in the final 30 in Gold?

Will they step Tyrel Lomax up into the squad??
I've thought of a list of players that may be available(not 100% on their contract commitments)

Harley Fox
Pete Samu
Pat Sio
Fotu Auelua
Mark Baldwin
Harry Bergelin
Leroy Houston

2017 contracted?
Lolo Fakaosilea
Adam Korczyck
Gus Cottrell
Lopeti Timani
Scott Higginbotham

Can't think of many others from the NRC

See if Hoilesy or Elsom feel like coming back, Is Henry Tuilagi doing anything these days?

^^^^^ Brumbies coach Steve Larkham has ruled out recruiting another player for the rest of the season to cover for the loss of Ita Vaea.

The name you are missing that I think will be at the head of the queue - Ben Hyne. He went to SA as cover when Vaea was injured.

Smiler has a knee problem! .............. It got in the road of Sam Carter's head as Sam was falling to ground, after being ankle-tapped, resulting in him failing the concussion test.
Smiler needs to keep that knee under control!!

Pocock news flash:

During his enforced break, David Pocock is try his hand at being a hard-hitting news camera man.

Pocock has captured dramatic footage of a pitch invasion that put lives at risk, forcing a game to be stopped and compelling players to respond to help with the unfolding drama:
