To be fair I think if Gill wasn't there the team would have lost. He identified the Rebels weakness at the breakdown and started the hit ups close in. It wasn't until almost half time before others started doing the same.

Not sure why he doesn't have option 2 but with Graham as Head/Backs coach. Seems to me what's likely to happen based on what I'm seeing on here.

I don't post often here BUT figured I'd log in for this one.

I'd be very much behind either Option 2 or Option 4.

Whatever happens I want to see Graham gone, I don't see how anyone can possibly keep him on with his record at the Reds and the Force before that.

IF it does turn out that Gill staying or going depends on Graham's place at the Reds, then they need to ditch Graham immediately and make damn sure that the players know he's all but out the door.

Keeping long term players like Gill and possibly QC (Quade Cooper) (assuming he is of a similar mindset) is much more important to the Reds and Australian rugby.

I think the best option is for JC to be DoR and get a new head coach in to look after the backs too. I think it will take a special coach to take the role but it seems to work in the UK and I can see great advantages to it here.

We need a competent backs coach, not RG. He doesn't even need to be a big name, just someone who can get our backs running straight and passing in front. We have the cattle, we just need competent leaders to direct them. RG is none of these things, and quite frankly only got the job because the process was not true. Conduct a proper analysis, and thorough job screening and plenty of better coaches will be available to lead our backs.

Do you think the reds will keep Wilkins (their defence coach) for next season? Judging by current defensive attitude, I'd be inclined to think not.
Where's Peter Ryan these days? He's an old brissie boy who I think played at the Broncs with Brad Thorn.

Defence coaches are a waste of money. You can't teach attitude and lack of fear. Tackling ability should be pre-requisite for recruitment. There's no Maroons that can't tackle...

Yep, they're taught how to tackle in U7s. Tahs don't need a full-time defence coach - doing a bit better than us...

Think Ryan was a lad from Boonah. Some tough lads came from there.

Bizarre comments...........

Every team has a defensive coach, or an assistant who is a defence specialist.

Of course, tackling and defence aren't exactly the same thing.........

Judging by some of the tackling in the NRL maybe they should employ defence coaches.... (I'll duck and hide now, no need to start a league v union debate on here - there already are a couple of threads dedicated to that).
