^ Lyon won't even get a bowl at this rate & I doubt even R.Ashwin can roll your blokes for >100.

Edit: NZ's long-standing record for lowest Test innings coming under serious threat here........

Edit: gutsy 7th wicket partnership of 8* ensures that the record stays with NZ :) no, wait it's still on if India lose another 3/0.

Sorry to harp on about NZ's infamous 26 all out but that was back in the days of uncovered wickets & possibly of Eden Park being grazed rather than mowed. Has anyone scored less than 36 on a covered, properly-curated pitch?

Edit: quick google suggests not, lowest modern-day score prior to today appears to be 38 by Ireland v England last year.

They brought up the lowest scores on the coverage and AB mentioned that they would all have been on uncovered wickets. There really was nothing wrong with the pitch, a combination of very good bowling and poor technique.

What a day of cricket. Hard to split Hazelwood and Cummins for MOTM. Cummins might just get there for his contributions in the first innings. India still a dangerous side but their confidence will be shot. The batting looks thin with Kohli going though.

Fuck me dead, what an incredible day that was. The quicks were just remarkable today - relentless in that channel on or outside off and getting the ball to do the rest. They bowled a nice full length too.

The length they bowled was the main factor. Full, inviting the drive and catching an edge for a catch behind. Then somewhat inexplicably putting short ones to the tail allowing the score to balloon out from less than 20 to 36. Why they persist with short balls to tailenders is mystifying. Maybe some element of payback?

Yeah, India were asking for it after their treatment of Conway in the tour match. That said, never good to see a bloke out with a likely fracture.

Kohli's dismissal surely has to be the most annoying aspect of that second innings disaster. Cuts it to backwards point, with gully just missing on the dive. Next delivery caught by gully. At least he had the cojones to front up to the media afterwards and cop it.

^ it's beng reported on this side of the Dutch that Shami is gone for the remainder of the series with a fractured arm. With him & Kohli gone it's hard to see anything other than 2-, 3- or even 4-0 series win for 'straya.

Speaking of this side of the Dutch there's a T20I down the road in ~90 mins that I'd go to if not for the fact that T20 is IMHO the second-worst format,10-over obviously being the worst pending some fucktard dreaming up an even shorter one.
