Yeah, India were asking for it after their treatment of Conway in the tour match. That said, never good to see a bloke out with a likely fracture.

If it wasn't for shit technique by Shami, that ball would barely have got up to his armpit. He's got a Test 50 FFS. Duck!

^ throwing Pucovski in so soon after taking yet another head-knock would surely count as reckless endangerment. Bloke should retire before any permanent damage is done (assuming it hasn't been already).

That was fucking awful bowling and fielding.

India got a bit of luck, sure, but you can't drop five fucking catches and expect a top side to let you back in. Hopefully they come out more competent tomorrow or the game is gone.

We're in deep, deep trouble here. The fielding was no good today and frankly the body language from a few blokes looked concerning. This all came about from once again our brittle top order getting out cheaply and then transferring the pressure onto the bowlers (both with the bat and ball). Our top six other than Smith and Marnus is pretty mediocre and with Smithy continuing to struggle that's magnified. If we go down here we're going to have to make a change for the third test. You can't expect the same blokes to carry the side every game.

Smith has very promptly lost his hands again, so soon after finding them. Best test batsman in the world aint much chop at the moment.

Some chickens are coming home to roost now. After papering over the issues with our batting order for a season or more, we've now been exposed badly when one of the big dogs misses out a few times. Surely Burns can't survive. Leaving aside the near total absence of run production, you can tell that he's all over the place technique wise. As the redoubtable Bruce Ross once said: these blokes don't pick themselves. It's time for the selectors to do the right thing and send Joe back to domestic cricket and find some form. Wade and Head are very fortunate to not be doing the same.

I reckon Head must go too. Neither has been a consistent success at test level and Joe in particular has been very poor at Shield level too this year.

Before this test, Langer said it would be a brave action to change a winning team. Really, is he worthy of the coaching position? It was as plain as the nose on his face that both those players were sorely out of form. Where's the Rennie attitude to only picking players on form?
