Mathematically it certainly is possible, but history is very much against them.

Highest all-time successful 4th innings run chase was 7/418 by the West Indies against Australia at Trinidad in 2003 (when WI could play).

Highest at Lord's 1/344 by Clive Lloyd's West Indians in 1984. (When they could play even better)

Highest by England 7/332 at Melbourne in 1928.

They don't need to score the runs. Just need to bat 5 sessions

Heard a stat on the radio broadcast that only 5 sides have ever batted for 5 sessions to save a test.

Great win and great to have some guys back firing. Really concerned for Rogers though and hope there are no long term issues.

Outstanding weekend of couch-potatoism: Wallabies snare victory from the jaws of defeat, epic fightback in the Davis Cup and Lords test rout. Onwards for Jason Day to claim his break through major victory in the British Open.

Will be a real shame if he's forced to leave the team but it didn't look good last night.

Leaves the door open for Watson to return to his favoured openers spot

NO, NO! This team played so much better without Shane, fer Chrissake find another opener.

NO NO! The team has played so much better because the top order dominated with the bat.

To say that is just absolute bias against him. How were we better without him batting at 6? 6 was never tested.

Surely that's the logical decision.

For Watson to come in it would have to be at 5 or 6.
