No, only started again the other day. 5 episodes then I think it goes on hiatus again for a bit more again.

I can see how dweebs get all defensive about how much moooorrrre they like the show than regular people and tick everyone else off. They're like the Tool fans of tv.

"Oh, but you can't really hear they're playing in 5/4 because you haven't had the musical training."
"Oh, but you dont really understand the show because you're not like me and Rick."

    Get started!

2 eps into this season and it just seems too clever for its own good. Less laughs, more smarty pants. At least this weeks ep the Glutes all had Niew Zllnd accents.

The Good Place feels like its taxiing in towards the end and seems too preachy

1 ep into Watchmen and man it is harsh. Wildly conceptually though.

Silicon Valley still #goddamn 1. Lmfaq off at Jared. BEST.

This season has started really well. It is so accurate in terms of software engineers too.

I think I fell asleep watching S4E3 of The Good Place the other night. I get the feeling they've baited us by reminding us of the guy in the Ted Danson suit, then made us think that the bad place did the ol' switcharoo in the train at the end of E1 by making him more awkward in E2. But I suspect he just soiled hisself.

Edit: I tried copying DP like the unoriginal cretin that I am by trying to hide the spoiler, but used too dark a yellow.

So for me, the biggest TV highlights for the year have been the second seasons of both Fleabag and Barry......

Far and away the best comedy series in a long while.

up to ep 3 of The Handmaid's Tale now.

Had enough of this feelgood, upbeat positivity. When does the bleak misogyny start?

It's not going to whack itself over here you know.

Just finished watching Good Omens. It is a 6 part miniseries from Neil Gaiman. It was excellent! David Tennant and Michael Sheen in the lead roles were great together.

I've read good things about The Gloaming on Stan. Good piece of Tasmanian gothic. Might give that a burl after the very lightweight Schitts Creek failed to hold my attention for more than 15 minutes

Bitterly disappointed in S3 of The Handmaids Tale. **SPOILERS**

The main screenhog handmaid was allowed FAR too much leeway with her insulting public displays of brazenly insubordinate language and her generally insolent comportment. WHERE was Aunt Lydia and her magisterial cattle prod to correct these glib displays of public insouciance? WHERE? ANSWER ME.

    Top 4 Characters:
    1. Mrs Putnam
    2. Aunt Lydia
    3. Freddie "Go-Balls" Waterford
    4. Eva Braun AKA Mrs Waterford

Recently finished watching the first season of Man in the High Castle. Really enjoyed it. It's a bit of a slow burn at the start but thee concept is certainly interesting.

We watched the first two episodes of Schitt's Creek last night. Can't say we really got into it. Does it get much better? I know a lot of people think it is amazing.

^ tried to read the novel in my teens but the whole novel-within-a-novel thing did my head in so I gave up on it & discovered the Dune series. I still have hope that someone will on day make a tv- or movie series that do them justice.

I got that far in and binned it.

Started Sex Education on the weekend. Surprising bouncy and sharp writing, pretty unexpected.

My girlfriend has been pestering me for yonks to watch it. I was adamantly against it, looked way too Netflix-y and bright.

But boy was I wrong (first time I swear), it's genuinely hilarious. An Australian writes it and she is so good and the young cast can really deliver. A tight comedy that makes you feel - it's like an English Freaks & Geeks made 20 years later. I really hope that this is the start of some long careers for a few of the more unknown actors like the girls who play Lily & Aimee.

Also can anybody tell me if it's worth watching the latest season of the guiltiest nerd pleasure pleasure Doctor Who? I just can't get the effort to do it to myself.

    Might check it out.

My wife and I definitely find our threshold for comedies is far lower (or is that higher) than pretty much any other genre. There's only a handful of comedies we've really enjoyed over the duration whereas anything crime, drama or action is likely to get a good run even if objectively, it's not that good.

For my wife in particular, if a show is British, set in a small town and involves someone getting murdered, she's willing to commit to 3+ seasons before watching the first episode.
