The new Google Chrome web browser has been out for a while now, and as usual I've waited until the beta issues got out of the app.

I'm giving this a whirl at the moment and have to say its not too shabby. But perhaps slightly disturbing right this minute is the amount of activity my HDD is showing :nta: I'll review that. The memory footprint isn't too bad but at just over 60Mb in total is a bit hefty for what is supposed to be a slim browser. Still, after the grief I had with FF3 its not bad to look at a browser that just does the interwebby thing well.

    *sigh*

Google trying to be all things to all men.

Looks good, works well, but your'e right. It's a ten pound gorilla. Also odes some weird stuff with formatting (which is annyoying since it's enough of a challenge to build sites that are 100% compatibale with IE and Moz).

Too much google is really not a good thing.

Well it won't do the VPN to work via Citrix - installs the beta Java version that is rated for Chrome but still complains that the plugin isn't there. Still, the work VPN hates FF2 & 3 as well. So I'm still stuck with IE regardless.

So that's what I sound like when I talk jargon to my patients! No idea what you're saying, Nick, but damn, it sounds impressive! ;D

That's not jargon, this is jargon.

I keep a little file of my favourite conference abstracts. It keeps me sane.

Thanks boyo, must have taken a long time to find this thread seeing it was six years ago that it was last used!

My wife will be happy about this as she's forever complaining that I complain too much about my laptop being too slow what with all the open tabs I have on it at any given time!

I bought some BAT (the crypto currency accompanying the browser) in January. Great and very necessary project imo.
