Unbelievable semi-final.

Fiji were ahead of NZ 29-0 at the break and went on to win it 44-0.

As NZ has humiliated many other teams at various levels of rugby, it was bizarre to see them on the other end of a hiding.

Everything they did turned to crap and vice-versa for Fiji.

The was a bit of the Twilight Zone about this game: everything was back-to-front.

Oz beat Portugal to win Bowl 17-15.

Not a great performance by Oz but Portugal worse and too many missed tackles by them.

Funny you refer to Twilight Zone, Fiji had worn a black alternate strip for the first time I've seen in the quarter final, or was it on the first day...perhaps that's why they played like the ABs!

The Aussie women were absolutely brilliant. Such an exciting final and an incredible victory over New Zealand who almost never lose.

Their improvement from the quarter final where they only just scraped home against England to then demolishing Russia to the comeback in the final was awesome.

Rachel Crothers was sensational. She's got some real gas!

With Rio 2016 looming I think that we are a great medal chance in the Women's comp (any chance they could play it in Dubai as our women seem to love it there).
The men will continue to be problematic. Hopefully the centralised structure, with players all moving to Sydney, will help them to be more consistent. We need to be a top 4 team in the IRB series to really have a shot at a medal. If we aren't at that level by next year we may struggle to qualify.
