Stood down after having a drink after the Chiefs game, despite the fact that an alcohol ban was a condition of his return.

What the fuck was he thinking.

Any context to that drink? Obviously an alcohol ban is an alcohol ban but, say, going to a pub with mates and ordering a beer (so you don't stick out like a sore thumb) is different to getting plastered and clocking someone.

Both merit bans but one needs a slap on the wrist and another needs a break from the test scene as well.

Thanks for ruining all my predictions about your triumphant return to the Wallabies 10 jersey Kurtley.

Really sad for everyone concerned. Such a great talent butchering everything through alcohol.

I'm guessing he'll get one more chance with the Rebels this season but he won't be playing for them again next year. Unsure whether he'll be signed by the Tahs or whether he'll be told he's not welcome.

I don't know if I feel for the guy or think he's an idiot. A bit of both probably.

Real shame, he was looking good. I expect he's gone now (hope not, but expect it).

It sounds like he admitted to having a drink and missed a counselling session. At least the drink didn't become public because he got drunk and did something stupid again.

You've got to wonder if he owned up out of guilt or because he knew if it came out in other ways it'd be worse for him.

Either way, if he did indeed drink and not do something stupid isn't that more of a win for his treatment then him not drinking at all? I've got no grounding in the field but my personal opinion says so.

HOWEVER, he obviously didn't obey the conditions laid down by his employers (ARU and the Rebels) and his advocate group (RUPA). So he's not in the right.

JEEEEEEEEEESUS

How many chances does this bloke need? Does he have rocks for Brains?

Please Kurtley, I beg you.... don't go walkabout like Andrew Walker just yet...

I'm saddened by this news and disappointed. Mainly because he's such a talent and he seems to be just pissing it away.

I'm also angry that he's got the life I dreamt of and he doesn't respect it. Talent aside, if someone told me that these are the list of (achievable) things I need to do to play S15 and possibly Test Rugby, I wouldn't need to wait for the thinking music. I couldn't give a fuck if I had to sit in the change rooms with the boys, singing the team song with a Powerade in my hand for the rest of my career. I would be prepared to pay a pretty high price to have that opportunity and what he's doing is essentially pissing on it. /rant

Agree, how many chances will the ARU & The Rebels give the guy? I don't understand how he can have a month on the sidelines and then be accepted back to the fold only to transgress less than a week later, what was he thinking.

He could have been a great player, but I don't think he'll ever get anywhere near his potential.

This is not the end for KB (Kurtley Beale) but he obviously isn't real happy in Melbourne.

Get him out of there ASAP. Send him back to the Tahs, this week if possible.

ARU better get this under control quickly or he'll be running around in the NRL or overseas next season.

What will be 'interesting' is what line of action the ARU now takes. Hard principle or pre-BIL pragmatism and the permitting of get-outs and excuses all round.

No one surely took the recent KB (Kurtley Beale) 'punishment and rehab' process seriously or as truly genuine when the ARU let the media know that KB (Kurtley Beale) was, in this process, off paddle boarding and socialising with a national selector and coach, R Deans.

That type of 'special status' is no rendition of seriousness of intent and punishment for what are unquestionably multiple offences of public and private assault involving alcohol. And what type of example of sold principle and 'no special status if you've committed an offence' did this type of socialising in this context provide to other players?

turning into a real pear shaped loser.
suspect he is suspended for at least this week and next and his lions chances are probably done

eyes turn to mogg and folau now and i suspect Mogg will get the jersey.

Yes it is a real shame.

But the real idiots are those who thought that he would become a responsible/reformed drinker in 4 weeks.

......and the idiots that invited him out to a pub for a drink.

But the buck stops with Kurtley I'm afraid. However if anyone has given something up (e.g. smoking) you'll recall there are relapses. You known its against your better judgement yet you do it anyway. These things take time, a lot of support and will power.

I hope for Kurtley's sake he can continue to work on this.

No, KB (Kurtley Beale) better get it under control quickly.Or the ARU will have no choice but to tell him to run around in the NRL or O/S next season.
He is supposed to be representing us.I don't want someone acting like he has been. to represent me,regardless of his on field ability.
