Craig Mitchell, with 15 Tests for Wales and clearly frustrated at not cracking Lions squad, spent last night in the Brisbane lock up after deciding to crack something else after the 1st Test.

Yes I know he was on the tight side, Youngs is not the best scrumaging hooker and is very light, also venapola is weak in the scrum put those three together and we are in trouble scrum time, AWJ will resume his position behind A Jones, thus leaving Parling on the loose side,
Cast your mind back to Wales and England in the 6N where Gethin Jenkins another superb player in the loose but, not renowned for his scrumaging were able to beat Marla Youngs ad Cole, I believe the same will happen with the loose side of the scrum, no matter Adam jones is one of the best TH in world rugby Scumaging today is about the front Five.
Blaming POC for those scrums is convenient I agree, but what was wrong with Parling holding the bind.
I believe him to be a weakness and with no cover on the bench lets pray AWJ is not injured.
    Just my opinion HSM.

Yeah I don't think there was too much in that, in an interview he said the same thing, just caught up in the moment.

No one was hurt but I am pleased that he came out with this statement, cracking player and having briefly met him last season seems like a cracking lad.

Everyone on here seems to be a bit obsessed with JFK. You are obviously much more trusting than me and don't believe the press has an agenda.

No Plastic, I'm with you, I wouldn't trust the press as far as I could throw them. It's also why I don't get worked up over the crap that does end up in print. Don't stop your conspiracy theories though.

No I share your concern Dai, just wanted to make sure you realized he was scrumming down at tighthead lock in the last 10 minutes of the First Test. I agree that Vunipola/Youngs/Parling is a weak area of the scrum, and that you must scrum as a five, and indeed as an eight.

I understand all of the selections - Vunipola for his mobility, Youngs for his work-rate, and Parling for the lineout, but if we are forced to scrummage a lot, it may turn very ugly. I would have no problem with Hibbard and Evans in the starting XV, but I don't think Grant or Court are viable options except in an emergency. So although it is a risk, I think Gatland had to pick Vunipola. Do you think Rowntree has been able to teach him how to scrummage in a week?

Yes, let's pray that A Jones and AW Jones stay on the park - we are f*cked if either has to come off early.

I have no problem with any of the three I mentioned, Youngs has been
very good so to Venapola , players coming off the bench will more often than not make an impact, fresh legs against tired ones, If Parling doesn't make the grade who have we got on the bench to tighten things up?? Croft. I'll say no more,;)

They have checked this is legal, one hopes? Fingerless mitt not a glove so ok on that front, but would hate to see Joubert refuse to let him play

I can but hope although it would bring Zebo onto the bench which would not be good.
