Pretty good team.
I assume that Chris Alcock has a niggle....

Very interested to see how Petaia goes at fullback, could be where he's playing for the reds next year if he takes to it.

agreed. THat's a very exciting selection. He played there at school a fair bit. I can't see him as a fullback so will be very interested to see how he goes. That's the biggest Reds selection gap to fill next year I reckon

We dinged. They donged. We dinged twice. They donged three times. We dinged. They donged. We dinged. They donged. We dinged for the win.

One conversion in it. Good effort from Prior for 6/6 from the boot. Can't beat a heart stopper of a game.

A good quality game where both sides played with intent and skill. How good is Prior's goal kicking this year. That was the difference in the final score - no misses to one miss.

Some good matchups. Deegan better than Stewart. Lee-Warner best lock on the field. Harry Lloyd bested Slipper in the scrums. Stander probably best on ground. Petaia very good at No 15, but saw the first tackle miss from him in Daquwaka's try. Paia'aua very good as was Iona for the Force. All round, some very good performances.

EDIT : Daugunu also rates a high mention.

Drag 'em out competitive rugby

If Country had only won that lineout before the Force's final try I think they could have held on.
They need a bit of work on their scrum. Two young second rowers need to push a little harder.

A win on the road against the top team always a good outcome.

Ian Prior's general game management and 6 from 6 conversions the only difference btwn these two good teams.
