Joker, having experienced the crushing disappointment of missing out on my double allocation of “the Precious” when I showed up late I’d suggest you get there before 1.30. Grab your fist full of dollars and run as fast as your Bruno Magli loafers will carry you because when the canteen shutters head skyward these tasty comestibles literally fly out the door. Don’t forget when you get to the front of the que to say “Azzuri sent me” and give the Shore mum that’s serving you a knowing wink. They’ll know exactly what you are after!

I woke up later in the Ritz Carlton Hotel with half a dozen empty bottles of Louis Roederer Champagne Brut Cristal, a passed out dwarf pony, three badly shaved afghan hounds, the Rose Bay Police Station sign, a half eaten White truffle and Gold Pizza from Maples, a variety of night club stamps up my arm and my passport number tattooed to my chest
