    Great forward pack!

The two Randwick centres should consider themselves most unfortunate.

As I say, "cream will always rise to the top", therefore these two cannot be overlooked forever!

If anyone in this thread knows them let them know not to give up!

I was informed before the commencement of the SC that selectors would be ignoring all 'Carded' players. I know of two that were worthy of the team but were yellow carded (and thus ignored)!

Anyone know of any inclusions in the team that were carded? Was my source correct in other words?

That is very interesting Newbie Thanks. My son was carded and did not make the team. That was his first ever card of any colour in his rugby career so I have to feel a little sorry for him. Harsh lesson learned and perhaps the ammunition he needs to get to the next level. I never assumed he was a walk up start for Sydney but judging by the number of messages I have received from all over the place, it seems others felt he had more than half a chance!

As the great Bill Shankley said, "this is not life and death, it is much more important than that." Just kidding!!

Newbie what 2 players were carded was the 13 from Randwick carded because he played really well with the 12 from Randwick against Uni?

Lachy Taylor performed really well and has been in great club form too. He was a shoe in IMO but as I said a couple of days ago, it was my understanding that selectors were going to ignore carded players!

With regard to the Wicks #13 (and #12) they should have been there too. Was the 13 carded in the Uni game? I didn't see this TBH.

I noticed that a DNP equated to non-selection; even where injured players were concerned!

I personally don't have an issue with such a position; them's the breaks! Pardon the pun . . . lol!

Hey LT how's Lachy looking for schools? Does he have another opportunity next year (i.e. is he in year 12 next year?)

Tell him to keep his head up either way! He reached the pinnacle of junior selection and already has a NSWSRU jersey on the wall!

And Endeavour got the bulk of the selections in the CHS team notwithstanding Hills having better quality players and the like!

Its vindication for those at Hills who were snubbed, however as the saying goes, it was analogous to pissing in a dark wet suit; it's a warm feeling but no body notices!

He is in year 11 so he still has a shot next year at the schools pathway.

    . . . . . . And will go close to making the NSWSRU 1's I'll bet!

His loyalty to club rugby has been commendable LT, if only they could have reciprocated and overlooked his one and only infringement!

LT why not have a chat with his Parra coach and have him make representations to the SJRU! This man is well respected among the SJRU fraternity and it is my understanding that he did the same for Winterstein when he was wrongfully precluded from the SJRU U/16's!

Newbie, Thanks for the positive message. There are a number of boys who could have done a job in the Sydney team and only 25 can be in the squad, so I feel a bit silly going on about it, having said that, it might be worth a mention.

I went down to watch the U17 state tournament this year as I have a nephew playing in one of the teams (no I will not name and shame rest assured) but I happen to watch quite a few of the games and observed quite an outstanding front row from the Norths/Souths team and im quite confused as to why they were not certainly put into the sydney U17s team. The three i am talking about, who started the game against Two blues in the semi finals consisted of number 16, number 22 and number 3. I did my research and I have found out that 16 was the sydney and state prop from last year, 22 was the NSWSRU U16 hooker from last year but the one that i was most impressed by was 3 who i saw played every minute of all the three games i saw them play which is uncommon of sizey props now adays but i have found nothing on him, can someone comment on any of these three? And no my nephew plays for norths/souths so i hold no bias towards these boys

What a surprise - NOT! The usual suspects - not picked on form but on previous performances/reputation. Sick of seeing these names based on nothing after watching games on Sat & Sun! In particular - Josh Mitchell from Randwick - what a gyp!

Just because all the "experts" don't know them doesn't mean they are unworthy! Mitchell was a stand out on the weekend - now that you know he plays for Newington I am waiting for endless discussion about him vs. Tepai & Milne etc!! But - have it it your own way! In the 2nd's so forget about him!!!! What a joke !

    Wreckless,

I was the first to commend the efforts of the Randwick centres in this thread, however I can assure you that there will not be endless discussions with respect to comparisons between Mitchell and his Newington team mates.

As good as Mitchell played on the weekend he is not as good as Moeroa or Milne! Not yet anyway!

Selections will always be subject to scrutiny, and the U17s are obviously no different! I am amazed that Norths/Souths only got two. Given that this was a cobbled together team that never really trained or played together the fact that they made the semis speaks for itself. Two tries conceded, including the semi vs Parra and the biggest win of the tournament vs Uni should say what these kids are about. Yet they only get two reps, one who only played a fraction of the games. Something not quite right here. I'm not saying those picked are undeserving, there are so many quality players about, I just wonder what the criteria are. Footycoach quite rightly highlights the front row, and this is with the first choice 2 playing 6 to cover the absent Amosa, and Oliver certainly stepped up to the plate and was outstanding. Paea Pua, Dean Pologa, Reuben Brien Arnold and Sam Mete were also stand outs.

Randwick are also surely worthy of better representation than equal with Wests who lost all of their games by large margins.

Anyway, regardless of the rant, it is what it is! Good luck to the Sydney boys vs the bumpkins
