All I have done is stated some facts. I’m sorry you don’t like hearing it.

The results reflect the form of the players from the past 4 weeks and any way you twist it North’s have hardly covered themselves in glory.

Yes Eastwood were disappointing and their selections reflect that but they didn’t come 7th.

I think you’ve been very hasty in defending them.

Fair call
I too might have been hasty.....

Been told tonight as I have blogged on the Juniors page
A few injuries in the Sydney 16s side so don't be surprised if there are changes

What happens if Lough doesn't play both?
Who will be named at 12

Has Armstrong been named at 13 or on the wing?
If so what a waste of a player- Armstrong I mean
Juniors must be pissed they missed him??

You've included 2 specialist hookers in your front row.

So what about
1. Driti
2. Schhoup
3. Ainstey
4. Brown
5. Margin
6. Hingano
7. Smith /Manu close call there .....
8.Basson
Reckon the back line is pretty close
Sydney will be disappointed about missing out on Delahoya Manu

When looking at the NSW Schools and SJRU U16's sides it seems (and I'm sure I will be corrected if I'm wrong) that there weren't many if any "dual pathway" players who played in the SJRU Zone and School trials selected for NSW Schools. Has anyone done the numbers?

Trevor Allan (34)
There are more than 15 dual pathway players in the SJRU and Presidents sides... FC...my question was "dual pathway" players who played in the SJRU Zone and School trials"...I know for a fact that while Luke Lough was at the ground he did not play in the Zone matches last weekend ..not sure of the others you mentioned

Luke didn't have to play zone he knew he was already in the opens and 16's schools sides, the others did not know.

Luke is a very talented player and IMO had every expectation of making the U16 schools side given his selection in opens. However if he "knew" before the schools and SJRU selectors met then doesn't it stand to reason that others also knew in advance.....

Sure - but what follows from that?

Just reflecting on various statements that have been made on G&GR that there was some form of draft process if players were on both the Schools and SJRU lists...i.e that they would not be privy to which list they were on but just advised of the outcome after selectors met?...Seems I misunderstood the process.

...that theres always dead certs in every race and a whole pack of also rans, fallers and favourites who never go on to win. reps rugby is no different but its certainly disappointing for boys who have put their all into the game system and played well in the process not to proceed to the pinnacle tournament of this age group

Anyhow have said enough and now stepping down off my soap box...[to the relief of some I'm sure] hopefully over the next three months the powers that be can work out a schedule for the NSW Invitational that is meaningful and appropriate for all the U16 participants.

So what course of action does Luke Lough and the young Goddard half if they are in both 16s and Opens teams
Will they play both
Wouldn't it better served by giving another a couple of players a run?
Interesting to see if they play? In October

I think last year Hutchison did not play the 16's National carnival but he went on to make Aussie schoolboys so had a lot of rugby including the end of year tour.

Lough and Goddard will only have First XV rugby after this saturday unless they make the Aussie schoolboys - they may have other games but no more than most of the other players.

It would be a good chance to play with some players they will undoubtedly team up with in the next year or so and why give up the chance to play 2 years for NSW Schools Under 16's.

Knowing Luke Lough he will want to play - he still desperately wanted to play for Gordon U16's despite being less than fit to play - not sure about Harrison Goddard.

Sorry IS, no great knowledge on this one. Suppose it depends on the kids involved. Neither of the young ones from last years Opens/16s played. One through injury and the other through higher honours

some tips to be in the mix.
CAS - Basson, Dainton, Morris, Armstrong, Bosch. plus the lock who won all the lineout ball.
GPS I - Todd, N.Brown, Wennerbom, Sheldon, Pirina, Terry, R.Miller
GPS II - Orpen
CCC - Valu, Manu, Sailor
CHS - Sa'u, half back, Hayman
ISA - Basha, Ongosia, halfback, Hopoate,

Many positions are very open in this squad and some players selected did not perform and were outplayed at this trial.Unfortunately you have to be at the right private school to get a look in. No ACIES or Country boy picked, 1 CCC and 2 CHS. Don't understand why this squad is not picked on the day with the players available at the trial. 4 players in the squad did not trial on the day (obviously already selected!!!) and one selected in 2 teams which only denies someone else any opportunity. More transparency needed in this process. I, like Gary, feel there could have been a wider mix.

Its not picked on the day because of the alternative pathway and the agreement to horse trade players that are common to both NSW Schools and Sydney. That's an explanation not an excuse.

all the more reason for transparency to save country boys and others trecking around all the trials or registering to play in city while they are at school in sydney as they get generally dumped by country as soon as they go away to board due to schools restricting their ability play for country at weekends due to school commitments. these boys are no less talented than those who are picked except they start further down the pecking order on the clipboard lists they never get to see or even comprehend
