I was out watching the BJRU rugby championships at Albany Creek Rugby Grounds.

A small point: they are the Queensland Junior Rugby Union State Championships, of which the BJRU is just one participating union. And as to relevance, I think we'll see a few of the boys competing wearing GPS jumpers next year.

Why would that be the case?

Churchie rugby director was there,Bbc 1st XV coach was there.and probably others i didn't see.
Cool, as long as they aren't gonna be competing in a club based comp in their school jerseys:) good luck to both schools and boys that are approached.

possible 2014 GT line up;

1. Rob Green - (1st XV 2012,2013,QLD Red 2012) if repeats
2. Tim McMahon - (16a's 2013) / new kid
3. Jacob Stanley - (16a's 2013)
4. new kid??
5. Ted Porter - (16a's/1stXV 2013)
6. George Cox - (1st XV 2013)
7. Connor Moroney - (1st XV 2013/QLD Red 2013)
8. Kyle Leofa - (QLD Red 2012,2013)
9. Rueben Wall - (15a's 2013, U16's QLD White)
10. Alex Horan - (1st XV 2013/QLD Red 2013)
11. Jack Lodder - (16a's/1st XV/QLD White 2013)
12. Hiale Roycroft - (QLD Rugby League)
13. Nikau Te Rupe - (1st XV 2013)
14. Nick Weller - (2nd XV 2013)
15. Quillan Pritchard-Malaki (QLD Rugby League)

A few holes to fill in the pack; at lock and front row, otherwise a very strong terrace team that could defiantly pull of a top 3 placing.
and terrace is renowned for their depth amongst age groups and should be able to easily fill any gaps, or rely on the possible new kids coming in next year.

Not a bad looking team. Kyle Leofa was not Qld Red 2012 and pulled out 2013.

Reliably told BBC picked up around 10 boys across all ages from the Albany Creek comp and another 12 or so from the league champs the following week. Does anyone think that if they EVER manage to win a premiership that they would feel like it has done the school or the boys any good whatsoever?

So doing what a lot of the other Gps schools have done for years is not ok for the Bbc crew to do ??
It will benifit the whole school, showing the boys who think it is there right of passage to play in the A teams or the 1st XV because there dad was an old boy or makes a large payment to the building fund every year or it is there turn or year, not by training in the off season or getting up at 6.00am to go to the gym for 6mths before the 1st whistle is blown.

Possibly BBC first XV:
1. Kahn Helms (2nd XV 2013)/ Chris Yanopa (u15A's undefeated)
2. Bronson Takipula (1st XV 2013 Capt.) word is he's coming back
3. Luke Peterson (1st XV 2013)
4. Dylan Leyland (1st XV 2013)
5. Darcy Swain (1st XV 2013) / Tom Davidson (u16A's 2013)
6. Ben Gunter (1st XV 2013) / John Swain (2nd XV 2013)
7. Christian Malaulau (1st XV 2013) / Kareem Tuuga (1st XV 2013)
8. Syd Smith (u15A's undefeated team, Aust rugby league u15)
9. Max Dempsey (1st XV 2013)
10. Fraser Cotton (u15A's undefeated)
11. Chris Verivis (commonly referred to as 'green headgear' u15A's 2013)
12. Johnny Seabrook (u16A's 2013) / Josh Betar (u16A's 2013)
13. Tiaan Wilkins (1st XV 2013)
14. Ben Simpson (u15A's undefeated)
15. Len Itikau (u15A's undefeated, QLD rugby league)

Questions still haven't been answered, who is going to coach, if more imports are going to be made. But in my eyes this is the most likely team for next year, with some players that will have to get dropped.

Defiently place this team up there in the top 3, hopefully at the top

BBC Forwards will be the pack to watch in 2014.
1/2/3. L/H will be contested and the only real question. Lazarus played 16 A's? - off season will be critical, the boy who wants it most will probably get it. If Takipula returns, he and Peterson will be in 3rd Yr of 1st XV!!
4/5 Take your pick,.. depth to burn.
6/7/8. Will be hard to dislodge 2013 back-rowers, Smith will be 16 and has size but the 2013 combo will have first dibs and will dominate.

Not sure what boys you are trying to talk up.

Do you think there is no space for:

- Sam Edwards (1st XV 2013, Qld Red U16 2013)
- Jerumi Nanai (1st XV 2013)

The biggest problem for this team is the workrate. One or two from last year would make a great tackle and then bask in the glory for 10 minutes. If they are going to be successful they need to work for 70 minutes. At least 2014 will have the greatest competition for spots in living memory.

Who will throw into the lineout? It was a massive fail all through 2013.

My call on the competition from here and now is it will be Churchie, finally making good on their pre season promise as premiers in 2014. Around 11-12 of the team are Gr 11 from this year and the team came third. hopefully they have learned to close out games like their shockers against BSHS and BBC and can put that into place, like the clinical TSS side of 2007. Year 12's departing are being replaced by quality imports or very good boys from a good 15A side. Dealing with this hype and expectation, as well as injuries, adolescent ego and girl troubles will be the X factors. Looking forward to the season!!!!

My apologies I totally forgot about those two but yes, they are big assets to the team, Sam Edwards would possibly move back to 15 with Jermumi Nanai in 12 or 13 like he played for the last 3 rounds this year.

I totally agree with you, their biggest problem was the walking, even from senior players in the team, everyones involvements were no more than 25 at most, when for a foward they should be reaching 35-45.

Bronson if he comes back, if not, there's a brilliant thrower from the 15A's Adam Simpson, lacks size but his set piece is great for his size. Another problem they had indeed, personally the coaches were naive to only resort to the best jumper Dylan Leyland and never use the other tower Swain or even Gunter, with Christian Malaulau occasionally being used.

Without number 12, and 13 your backline is useless. With 13 coming back, im not sure you'll have it in you? Word is you're importing a polynesian boy by the name of Sua? Great player in league, never seen him play union before

BBC 2013- keeping to game plan was a problem as well as a few hot and cold players.
However, the players remaining have a good work rate and given the talent coming through from the strong u16, 2nds and undefeated u15's ... for the first time in living memory BBC may have depth enough for the coaches to say: "if you don't play and train at 105%- you're not in the 1st XV."

With a little less glamour and a lot more grunt, the 5-3 win/loss in 2013 could be improved upon- making BBC possible contenders.
