Round 5 tips
NC v TSS.
Nudgee to defeat TSS in a tight match.

IGS v BSHS
Ippy by 10.
State High have too many key players injured .

BBC v ACGS
Churchie to thrash BBC

TGS v GT
Toowoomba by 12
Hard to beat at home.
I have a feeling that BBC vs ACGS might be closer. The College seems to play up against Churchie and its pretty much the last chance for them to "show what could have been".
But if I was a betting man I would still pick them to go down by perhaps 8-12 point.
Agree on Ippy but NC vs TSS and GT vs TGS are a bit of a lottery IMO.

Round Preview with the Wobbly boots on:

Nudgee Vs TSS
The Coasties are conditioned travelers, so a saunter up the M1 to the sunny climes of Boondall won't phase them too much. The last time most of them were up that way was for the Justin Bieber concert when Nudgee old boy, James O'Conner was one of the backing singers. The fond memories of that night will be enough for TSS to get home. The Nudgee old boys will be there early to check the form of the burger cookers and their under 14A team. That'll be the highlight for them.
TSS by 8

IGS V BSHS
The Ippy Mother Machine rolls on and is gathering more momentum than a Facebook invite for an 18th Birthday Party at Redneck Plains. State High will have celebrated hard after the Tough Mudder against BBC the previous week. Many of the backline lost their boots in the Fursden Road mire in that match and the groundsman won't be there for another week to dig them out, so thats gonna make things difficult for High.
IGS by 12

BBC V ACGS
BBC have ditched the pre-game pipe-band march this week and will be doing the Celebrity Ice Bucket Challenge (that's taking social media by storm), instead. This should be enough to jolt them into some action for the first 15 minutes at least. Extra mirrors have been installed in the Visitors change room at Miskin so the Churchie lads can practice GPS Shield lifts before the game. This will tire out a few of their backrowers, as BBC put on a couple of early tries. Chaos will then break out at halftime as an X5 driven by a Churchie mother goes into the creek next to the field.
By the time the crowd turns their attention back to the rugby, the Churchie backs will have put on 4 tries.
Churchie by 16

TGS V GT
The Terrace lads will be up there earlier than Noah on a rainy morning. The 4 hour warm up will take its toll and it will be a slow start from the Red and Black. TGS traditionally shut the boarding house kitchen on Friday nights before home games to fire things up a little. They'll also be doing a slide night on their recent South African Tour which will also bring back a few ordinary memories. TGS will hit the red dirt angry and GT will be holding on tighter than an All Black supporter to an Aussie dole cheque. It'll be a cracker - I like these two sides.

I'm in your camp fairplay, Nudgee oldboy day and the boys will be pumped to atone for last weeks effort at Churchie. Churchie could be a bit flat this weekend because of the hoopla last saturday (you'd think they've already been crowned GPS champs), so this my one and only "GO BBC. Go you good thing."

NC to beat TSS isn't crazy, I'm doing the same thing. The home crowd support they get is absolutely enormous thanks to their boarders. The NC are also incredibly brutal, they pack some real punch.

Tipping BBC is definitely crazy, I can't seem them winning another game except against BGS and that's a maybe.

The last 4 years Nudgee versus TSS has been won by the away team.
But I'm tipping Nudgee to break that cycle and notch a very physical win.

2nds to 6ths at each school are undefeated I believe, so games on the main from 9am will be all grand finals. Nudgee to win all bar 4ths.

Monday's Expert

Chris McKivat (8)
I tried to swear off the tipping this week but I'm sweating like Cliff Richard at a Wiggles concert and just had to have another go.

Churchie v BBC
The only thing that will tarnish the Churchie juggernaut will be injuries but with scholarship and representative boys in the 2nds, depth is not an issue for the Vikings. The White Elephants brought the game to the Chequebook XV last year and won after the bell and a number returning will recall that for both sides. Churchie will win but with some big men back for BBC, they won't win by as much as they think. Expect a lot of BBC dads at the 13As with itchy recent brazilians to put a new spin on "living vicariously through your son". Beware of any wanga flashing rowing coaches.

NC - TSS
One thing NC do is bounce back resiliently. This match will go a long way to determining the premiership because with a win NC are still in the mix and with injuries, TSS face the ultimate showdown the following week. Jack Ross drains well and the crowd is a factor but I'm going to go with Nudgee's spirit to hold firm in a game which will be decided by a field goal.

IGS -BSHS
In a round where producers of "I'm Bringing Sexy Back" trawl the crowds for their "before" candidates, and where the producers of "Bogan Hunters" salivate at their options, two big packs will rumble like Gina Rhinehart and Clive Palmer at a Sizzler pasta bar. Handling in the backs will be the key here on a day expected to be wet. Oxymoronically, BSHS to have the better discipline and to win by 10.

TGS- GT
Terrace know that BGS have the week off to devour dictionaries in preparation for QCS and this will be worrying them. They will positively spin the long trip up and back as an option for quiet in car study but fat Catholic fathers singing their version of Andrea Bocelli in the car and bony catholic mums trying to get their mink stole to sit just right will distract players travelling up this way. TGS to make the most of the home ground and win by 12.

BBC First XV and ACGS First XV for this weekend

BBC need to look at their S&C program. So many injuries every year.. a hooker playing prop? and no Darcy Swain(Qld 1).no Jerumi(played every 1st xv game last year), no Foulds, No Christianson(Qld under 16 ) , no Helms,No Lazarus. No under 16 A props.

That is 5 props out!!

Any thoughts on the BGS u16 team? And how could they go next year as 1stXV?

BGS U16, although a mediocre side, do have 6 players currently playing in the First XV. McKenna, Davies and Teo all have promise for next year. Positive sign for BGS, as from memory the 2011 side had 7 Grade 11's, and look what happened the next year.

Can't really see them beating BGS either. BGS have a great team spirit and mentality, BBC however, have clearly lost their spirit and collaboration.

Great news about McCorley returning, seems more motivated than ever to stamp his authority in the competition. Would seem a logical decision for Emtage to slide him into the #12 jersey. Although Max Wenck has been playing very well (would shift to the wing), Eddie's size and attacking flair would work well at #12 as a battering ram for BGS. If he can bust the line and work with specialist #13 Wolstenholme outside him there could be some exciting rugby from the BGS boys in the latter part of the season.
