Maddocks to make his 7s debut tomorrow at the Oceania 7s. Good luck lad.
Hopefully means he's in great shape and quicker than ever.
Former Rebel and Wallabies prop Toby Smith has opted to retire after a series of concussions.
Luke Jones, Matt Philip, Billy Meakes, and Gus Cottrell all named to play for the BaaBaas against a Fiji xv, Brazil, and a Wales xv (not all at the same time)
Sad to hear. This is occurring a lot more now there is more knowledge around head injuries. Probably would have helped many in the past to do the same as Tobes.
I wish the lad well in his post-rugby endeavors.
Not bad to get 4 current Rebs in the Ba Baas squad!
Agreed, the story of Ant Faingaa is scary bad.. you got to look after your head, you only get one.
Marika! 2019 John Eales medalist!
I have to admit I bagged him for the first half of the soup season ( and not without reason) but he really turned it around and played well from about round 9 onwards. Good I international season too.
Well done Marika. Amazing international season.
Did anyone see the list of young SA players signed for overseas clubs straight out of school? There was a few that were listed as been signed by the rebels. Anyone have any context? Reg has the list on his Twitter.
I'd say development options, probably not starting squad for a year. Another lock is handy. Thank god we got a backrow, we were looking a bit thin in that area.
Did you see all the players going to France? Looks like their approach of embedding pro club academy structures across the work is paying dividend.
As all good International players do. First half of soup is for phoning it in.
So pleased to have the Alltell sponsorship of the Melbourne Rebels and Dewar Shield competition now.

Melbourne - the Durban of the south.
How did they get so many dispensations?
The Rebels is a bit ridiculous imo - I am not even sure what framework applies to them. But someone thinks Melbourne is important clearly.
