Australia have a different jersey for the Olympics, apparently due to clashing colours with Brazil.

Robertson is an interesting call. Not one I disagree with, but as a back/forward hybrid, I would have thought the size and pace of Jamie would have won over Robertson's more solid Defence and passing.

Tom Kingston and Henry Speight have been announced as the travelling reserves for the men's team.

It doesn't seem like the two shadow players for the women's team have been announced yet.

Teddy Stanaway out of the Games with a broken hand, Lewis Ormond comes into the NZ 12 & Liam Messam becomes a travelling reserve.

http://www.planetrugby.com/news/messam-answers-new-zealand-sevens-sos/

Still can't find anything on the circumstances under which a travelling reserve can join the 12 & if they do whether they're there for the duration or the player they're replacing can rejoin, anyone got any info on this?

Emilee Cherry has a hamstring strain and is now in serious doubt for the Aussie women.

Huge injury blow for our team. She's absolutely one of our key players. Hopefully she miraculously recovers although it would seem unlikely. Any hamstring injury worth mentioning takes more than a few days to heal.

yeah, that's a big blow. And I assuming they can't just replace her for a day? If she's out then she's out?

Yep. Given our first game is in less than 48 hours and the final is less than 4 days away you'd think she has to be good to go for the start of the tournament or there is no point.

I guess it's how bad it is? Is it worth carrying for a couple of days and holding her back for the finals?

Yeah, definitely has to be a consideration given how important she is to the side.

Do you play the tournament with 11 and bring her in for the semi final and hope she can contribute for two matches.

I guess it increases your risk factor that if you suffer more injuries in those early games you are suddenly really short of players.

Aust women look like very much like a men on mission, No smiling etc after scoring a try, what a player Caslick is! All players going well, nary a dropped pass or a fumble to be seen, it is now reflected in the odds dropping for them to win gold!

Oh by the way, she tested her hammie out with a long sprint to the line to score a try yesterday

Aussies get up over Spain but still not looking at their best. Great Elia Green back out on the field and scoring a good try. Her strike power is invaluable.

We play the winner of Canada v France.

On that form a win against Canada is still likely, but I think the internal pressure is weighing them down. They are not playing with the clinical execution they started with.

Britain looked very good in their quarter-final, NZ might be favorites but they could easily get done.
