Round 6: Shorks v Rebels - Saturday 24 March @ Kings Park Stadium

So just checked the squad of players that left Melbourne for the Lions game. The only one that is on the list that hasn't either been named in the team or sent home is Ainsley.

So TBC could be any of:

Someone else has flown over (Tupou maybe?)

Ainsley will be the third reserve back.

A chance for a super rugby debut for a local Durban lad?

What position did Dave play?

I don’t get why Coleman is rested. Missed week 1, we had the bye week 2, off the bench week 3, played week 4 and 5. Absolutely no need to be rested. Unless as stated earlier it’s concussion. Naisarani been rested and not Jones, Philip and Rangi might be a indicator of who’s in the mix for wallabies.

Is that Tuipulotu's starting debut? So, we sent home Genia, Coleman and Koroibete yes. I'm nervous for Sione's defensive abilities.

Dctarget Sione started at 13 twice in 2016. On his Super Rugby debut v Reds in Rd 3 at AAMI Park - Rebels won 25 -23. In round 16 v Crusaders at AMI Stadium, Crusaders won 85 - 26. In all of his other 9 games so far he has been on the bench.

Three locks on the field. If a lock gets injured, they will bring on a backrower and move jones into the tight five.

You'd almost think that resting half the teams best players was planned...

I reckon they picked the first match of the tour as the potential winner and decided they'd rest people for the second.

Forgetting the unknown quantity on the bench, it's still a damn good starting XV. It's better than that the Reds can put out this weekend.

At half time, Rebels have conceded 9 penalties and Sharks have conceded two penalties. Although, Rasta is having a reasonable game. Sharks lead Rebels 16 - 14.

Rebels have two tries to one. Sharks have had more possession and territory. Rebels have looked good with ball in hand. Quade Cooper has set up both tries, one with long pass to Tom English on the wing and one with a short pass to Jack Maddocks, Maddocks put on a good step too.

Starting to get ugly now Sharks 28 Rebels 14 20 minutes to go.

Rebels attacked for 12 phases inside 10 metres through forwards but didn't look like scoring. Wilkin ended up being held up in a maul and there was a turnover.

Sharks scored from both opportunities, with a lob over top to du Perez (which may have been forward) but clever from du Preez who converted quickly and from a 5m scrum where Sharks had 2 on 1 advantage on short side.

Leota loses a ball while Rebels attacking. Mapimpi runs 60 metres untouched but Rasta went to TMO for a high tackle off ball on English and the try was disallowed and Louw was given a yellow card.

Magnay good at staying on his feet and making yards

Fortunate there.

So many loose turnovers in this game.

Yes it was a great run by Magnay but unfortunately we lost the ball on the next phase. Disappointing second half.

Full time Sharks 28 Rebels 14
