Rugby League - Progressive thinking

The reason they can't and won't do it is simple- cash.

The NSWRU is struggling with razor-thin margins every year. They desperately need big crowds at the SFS for every game. The survival of the Tahs depends on it.

Whilst it would be great for the game out there, taking a match to Lismore or Wagga is just not a viable option. Crowd would be around 10,000, the TV coverage would be of poorer standard and the advertisers would have less stadium space to use. Waratah members would lose a home game thus devaluing the product.

It's a sad reality of rugby nowadays, but a trial is the best rugby these areas will get for some time I reckon.

This aged well. Like one of those Simpsons episodes.

Everyone loving the stadium reno? Looks great.

Haha maybe so. You wonder how much $$$ the NSW Government has chipped in to help keep the Tahs afloat while the stadium is built.
